A nine-year-old girl, who recently lost her father, has performed a moving cover of Adele's hit song Hello to honour her dad.

Ami Shroyer, of High Point, North Carolina, posted the clip of her talented daughter, Sadiella, to Instagram. Adele song, she shared, became popular around the time the family suddenly lost their beloved husband and father, Mike.

And for Sadiella, it took on a special meaning.

Shorter writes:

"She would sing it ["Hello"] over and over in her room, and I asked her one time why she liked this song so much. Her response: 'I think Daddy can hear me from the other side, and I'm sorry for everything I ever did that was wrong.' Broke. My. Heart. Still... she loves this song, even if the rest of the world is tired of it. So I'm not surprised that it was the one she used with her first attempt at this new app." I really really love this girl!

The little girl's vocals are breathtaking beautiful - and accompanied by none other than post-it notes.  "You really just never know what she's up to!!! Shroyer said of her creative daughter.

In a blog post on her website, Shroyer describes the pain of her husband's unexpected death in December last year.

"I stood stunned, watching through the glass (my brother holding me up from behind), as the I.C.U. room cleared out, leaving just a bed with the body of the man who brought all of the calm to my chaos, and all of the balance to our everything."

Her husband, she explained, had developed a breathing struggle from an obstruction he breathed in. And just like that, she said, he was gone.

Shroyer –a singer/songwriter herself –told Babble that music has helped the family, including her 13-year-old son, J. Michael, through their grief.

For Sadiella, singing makes her feel "amazingly good". And, certain songs help her to feel close to her dad.

"Sadie truly was born singing," her proud mum said. "She made noises as an infant that were just glorious."
