by Herbert Mitgang
(1981) President Abraham Lincoln brought back to life on the very stage that witnessed the end of the man and the beginning of an American legend. Watch and understand both as never before. "Moments like these are priceless, and responsible programs like 'Mister Lincoln' provide the valuable service of helping us remember them forever." ~David Sterritt, Christian Science Monitor
"The one man bringing this sometimes enigmatic, always fascinating figure to theatrical life is Roy Dotrice. A specialist in solo performances, most notably as the 17th-century English writer John Aubrey in 'Brief Lives,' Mr. Dotrice is British, a fact that disturbs some American critics. There's no cause for alarm. Mr. Dotrice gives an eloquent performance, creating a Lincoln who is at once vulnerable and awesome. He manages to make the Gettysburg Address sound as if it were written yesterday. Ford's Theater, of course, is the site of Lincoln's assassination. When Mr. Dotrice turns during his curtain calls and bows to the empty box where the President once sat, the sense of historical continuity and national loss is profoundly felt. ''Mister Lincoln'' also marks the debut on public television of the long-running ''Hallmark Hall of Fame'' series. George C. Scott is the host." ~John J. O'Connor, NYTimes .

This video is about Ned's epic dream scene in 'Game of Thrones', the first book of 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series. This dream scene will be included in season 6 of the HBO TV show.
The video is illustrated by Fantasy Flight Games drawings and fans drawings published in the internet. The reading is the voice of Roy Dotrice from the 'Game of Thrones' audio book. Music used:
* "Les Mémoires Blessées" by Dark Sanctuary
* "Libera Me" from "Interview with the Vampire" soundtrack

Ned is dreaming about an event that took place years before the story began, just after the mad king was killed. Ned and his companions reach a tower in Dorne where his sister Lyanna is found together with 3 of the kingsgaurd. Ned is talking with them, trying to understand why they are there and why they were neither near the king who was killed in King's Landing, nor near Rhaegar (the king's first son) who was killed in the Battle of the Trident, nor with the queen (pregnant with Daenerys) and young Viserys (the king's second son) who fled to Dragonstone. Illyrio Mopatis is a wealthy and powerful Magister in the Free City of Pentos. He is a dealer in spices, gemstones, dragonbone, and other things. He is morbidly obese, with yellow hair and a forked beard. For a time he served as custodian of the exiled Targaryens and now seeks to return them to the Iron Throne. In the TV series he is played by Roger Allam. As a young man, Illyrio was a poor bravo, living by his blade. After the young Varys arrived in Pentos they formed an unlikely friendship and worked together and became very rich. Illyrio grew very respectable and married the maiden daughter of a cousin of the Prince of Pentos[4] - only with the help of Varys did he reach a position where the daughter of a Magister was willing to marry him.[5] After she died, he remarried at least once, to a Lysene pillowhouse worker, Serra. This infuriated the Prince, who barred the palace to him forever after. Illyrio was very happy with Serra until a Braavosi trading galley - carrying the plague - anchored in Pentos. Through the rats the plague left the ship and killed two thousand in the city, among them Serra. Illyrio keeps a locket with Serra's picture and her hands as a reminder of his lost love.[4]
Even decades after Varys left to serve in Westeros the two still keep in close contact.[6][3][4]
Illyrio has kept an eye on the remaining Targaryens, Viserys and Daenerys, for years whilst they lived in exile in the Free Cities.Eventually, he takes them into his manse, keeping them under his protection. Daenerys and Viserys Targaryen stayed half a year before Dany's marriage to Khal Drogo.] He was smitten at first by the beauty of Daenerys Targaryen and thought of eliminating Viserys and claiming her as a wife, but dismissed this idea soon as he believed the girl too timid and frightened and that coupling with her would give him no pleasure. He claims he protected Viserys and Daenerys on the grounds that Viserys promised to make him the Master of Coin upon his ascension to the Iron Throne.

In honor of the "Diamond Edition" Blu-Ray & DVD which is comes out this week, I'm going to present to you the story of "The Little Mermaid". This is the complete story with songs from this memorable animated film. It was narrated by Roy Dotrice. This album was released around 2006 as part of "Disney's Storyteller Series" along with other stories from the "Storyteller" series which I will be uploading it soon.
This full story was played on my 1972 Akai 1721W reel-to-reel tape recorder, and the audio quality was mediocre and very full of bass.
The "Diamond Edition" is now available on Blu-Ray this week, and you can purchase at this link:

Dickens of London is a 1976 television miniseries from Yorkshire Television based on the life of English novelist Charles Dickens. Both Dickens and his father John were played by British actor Roy Dotrice. The series was written by Wolf Mankowitz and Marc Miller. In the United States, the series was shown in 1977.
The series of 13 episodes of 60 minutes was directed by Michael Ferguson (6 episodes) and Marc Miller (7 episodes), who was also the series' producer, with David Cunliffe as executive producer. Mankowitz's book, Dickens of London, published by Weidenfeld and Nicolson in 1976, was based on the detailed research he made while writing the screenplay.
Each of the 13 episodes of Dickens of London is a separate flashback, with Charles Dickens (Roy Dotrice), by now an internationally famous novelist, in America during a reading tour of 1869, looking back over his life. Dickens the boy (Simon Bell) is shown unhappily pasting labels onto pots of shoe blacking, while Dickens as a young man (Gene Foad) is revealed as a young genius who is becoming aware of his powers and trying to find his own way in the world. Mary Hogarth (Lois Baxter) is the middle one of the three Hogarth daughters and is portrayed as the one person with whom Dickens seems to have been able to share his work. She dies suddenly aged seventeen and Dickens wears her ring on his little finger for the rest of his life. Georgina Hogarth (Christine McKenna), the youngest of the three Hogarth daughters, comes to live with the couple to help run the household, at the request of her oldest sister Catherine Dickens . The real-life relationship Dickens developed with the young actress Ellen Ternan is not mentioned in the series, nor is Dickens' separation from his wife, Catherine, in 1858.
The series instead is mainly concerned with the influence upon Dickens of his improvident father, John Dickens (Roy Dotrice), who was a Naval clerk and who always spent more than he earned. He is portrayed as an alcoholic and it is suggested that this was the source of the family's financial difficulties. The script includes passages from Dickens' own works, woven skilfully into the dialogue spoken by the series' characters, creating recognizable signposts for readers of Dickens' work.

Adam (Kirk Douglas) and Alex (Farrah Fawcett) are two scientists stationed deep beneath the barren surface of Saturn's third moon, Titan. They live together in idyllic isolation in a space-age Eden, seeking new forms of food for an exhausted planet Earth. Their perfect world is interrupted when Benson (Harvey Keitel) arrives as Saturn goes into eclipse and cuts off communication with the rest of the solar system. Aided by his 'helper robot' Hector, James reduces life to one single purpose...survival. The robot becomes violently unmanageable. For Adam and Alex, their only hope is to flee, but the homicidal robot stands in their way. Produced and directed by legendary filmmaker Stanley Donen (Singin' In The Rain, Charade and Seven Brides For Seven Brothers), Saturn 3 is a pulse-pounding study in sci-fi suspense!
