Leigh Taylor-Young (born January 25, 1945) is an American actress who has appeared on stage, screen, podcast, radio, and television.
"Someone once told me that success is when preparation meets with opportunity. So obviously the most important thing is to be prepared when the opportunity comes."
Young was born on January 25, 1945, in Washington, D.C. She added the surname Taylor, which was the surname of her stepfather, a successful Detroit executive. Her father was a diplomat, and her younger siblings are actress and sculptor Dey Young and writer/director/producer Lance Young. The siblings were raised in Oakland County, Michigan. Leigh graduated from Groves High School, Beverly Hills, Michigan in 1962. Before attending Northwestern University as an economics major, she spent a summer shifting scenery, modelling, acting, and sweeping up at a Detroit little theater. However, she left Northwestern before graduating to pursue a full-time acting career, making her professional debut on Broadway in Three Bags Full. About dropping out of college, the actress explained:
Leigh may refer to:
Charles Patrick Ryan O'Neal (born April 20, 1941), known professionally as Ryan O'Neal, is an American actor and former amateur boxer.
O'Neal trained as an amateur boxer before beginning his career in acting in 1960. In 1964, he landed the role of Rodney Harrington on the ABC nighttime soap opera Peyton Place. The series was an instant hit and boosted O'Neal's career. He later found success in films, most notably Love Story (1970), for which he received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations as Best Actor, What's Up, Doc? (1972), Paper Moon (1973), Stanley Kubrick's Barry Lyndon (1975), and A Bridge Too Far (1977). Since 2007, he has had a recurring role in the TV series Bones as Max, the father of series co-protagonist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan.
O'Neal was born in Los Angeles, California, the eldest son of actress Patricia Ruth Olga (née Callaghan; 1907–2003) and novelist and screenwriter Charles O'Neal. His father was of English and Irish descent, while his mother was of half Irish and half Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry. His brother, Kevin, is an actor and screenwriter.
Jennifer Eve "Jennie" Garth (born April 3, 1972) is an American actress. She is known for starring as Kelly Taylor throughout the Beverly Hills, 90210 franchise and Valerie Tyler on the sitcom What I Like About You (2002–06). In 2012, she starred in her own reality show, Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country on CMT.
Garth was born in Urbana, Illinois, to John and Carolyn Garth. The youngest of seven children (though the only child of both), Garth spent much of her youth on a 25-acre horse ranch in Arcola, Illinois. For a time the family stayed in Tuscola, Illinois; but eventually they settled in Glendale, Arizona, when Garth was around thirteen years old. She studied dance and modeled, and was soon discovered at a local talent competition by Hollywood scout and manager, Randy James. She attended Greenway High School as a freshman and transferred to Apollo High School in her sophomore year. Determined to become an actress, Garth would receive audition materials from Los Angeles that she would work on with local acting coach, Jean Fowler. She left school during her junior year to work with James in Los Angeles and would later obtain her high school diploma in California. She continued taking acting classes and going to auditions almost daily and soon landed a role as "Erica McCray" in the NBC television series Brand New Life (1989–90).
Tim Matheson (born Timothy Lewis Matthieson; December 31, 1947) is an American actor, director and producer. He is perhaps best known for his portrayals of the smooth-talking Eric "Otter" Stratton in the 1978 comedy National Lampoon's Animal House and of Vice President John Hoynes in the NBC drama, The West Wing. He has had a variety of other well-known roles, including providing the voice of the lead character in the cartoon TV program Jonny Quest.
At the age of 13, Matheson appeared as Roddy Miller in Robert Young's CBS nostalgia comedy series Window on Main Street during the 1961–1962 television season. In 1964, he provided the voice of the lead character in the cartoon program Jonny Quest. He was also the voice of Jace in the original animated series of Space Ghost. In addition, he played the role of the oldest son, Mike Beardsley, in the film Yours, Mine and Ours, which also starred Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda.
In 1969, Matheson joined the cast of NBC's The Virginian western series in the eighth season as Jim Horn. He had a guest role in the 14th episode of the second season of Night Gallery, in the story "Logoda's Heads". In the final season of the television western Bonanza in 1972–1973, Matheson played Griff King, a parolee who tries to reform his life as a worker at the Ponderosa Ranch under Ben Cartwright's tutelage. He portrayed a young motorcycle cop, Phil Sweet, in the 1973 film Magnum Force. Matheson also appeared earlier in the CBS television comedy series My Three Sons and Leave It to Beaver. In 1975, he guest starred in CBS's short-lived family drama, Three for the Road.
Along with her dedication to acting, Leigh Taylor-Young has pursued an ever-expanding devotion to spiritual awareness, peace and loving service. An Ordained Minister since 1975, Leigh has studied and worked closely with her Spiritual Teacher, John-Roger, the Founder of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness. In recent years, Leigh has traveled the world with her life partner, John Morton, President of John Morton Ministries, together presenting seminars, workshops and heartfelt service to assist others in awakening spiritually, and for creating a better world. As Vice-President of John Morton Ministries, Leigh is deeply supportive of the Ministries' inspiring works, assisting others to see the goodness in themselves and touch into their own divine co-creatorship. http://msia.org http...
This scene is taken from the final episode in which Rachel Welles (Leigh-Taylor Young) appeared. Actually, it's not Rachel and Rodney Harrington (Ryan O'Neal) kissing, because Rachel has lost her mind and thinks she is Allison Mackenzie, Rodney's first girlfriend. Interesting fact: Ryan O'Neal and Leigh Taylor Young were married in real life, so the passion must be real! I do not own the footage.
