Man dies in jet-ski accident at Sans Souci in Sydney's south

A man has died after a jet-ski accident in Sydney's south on Sunday afternoon.

The man, in his 50s, was riding a jet-ski on Botany Bay about 3.15pm when it crashed.

Police said the man was ejected.

He was found in the water by "a passing vessel" near the Captain Cook Bridge.

Water Police responded from their nearby Sans Souci base and performed CPR on the man, but he could not be revived and died at the scene.

He was taken back to the base, on Water Street, on Sunday afternoon.

Officers also recovered a blue Yamaha jet-ski, which was pulled from the water and inspected before it was secured on a trailer.

Another man in his 50s was riding on the jet-ski as a passenger but was not injured.

Police from the Marine Area Command are investigating the death.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
