ONE WEEK WARNING: Official Earthquake Advisory Issued For Southern California.
A swarm of earthquakes that rattled the Salton Sea area earlier this week has increased the probability of a major quake hitting Southern California.
The California Office of Emergency Services (OES) issued an earthquake advisory warning residents and officials in Ventura, San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, Kern and Imperial counties that there was a greater possibility of a major earthquake through Oct. 7.
More than 140 seismic events have been recorded near Bombay Beach beginning Monday ranging from magnitude 1.4 to 4.3, according to U.S. Geological Services (USGS) seismologists.

The California Governor's office has issued an Earthquake alert for most of Southern California. This includes the counties that would be most affected by a big movement in the San Andreas fault. This is still a long way from a perfect science. Due to a great deal of activity in the Salton Sea small quake activity recently. Even if there is no big quake as mentioned as an increased possibility before October 4th, 2016, there is still an ongoing threat of an 8 magnitude quake at any time in Southern California. That would almost certainly be a killer quake and could cause major widespread damage and loss of life. It could still be years or decades away but someday a big event will occur and it will be followed by many aftershocks which could be bigger than most earthquakes. This video offers tips you will not hear mentioned in the documentaries that show seismograph needles and the exterior of the USGS building. This is actual usable advice from someone who has felt many earthquakes. The Salton Sea area has had a swarm of small earthquakes recently.

Southern California
Southern California, often abbreviated SoCal, is a geographic and cultural region that generally comprises California's southernmost 10 counties. The region is traditionally described as "eight counties", based on demographics and economic ties: Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. The more extensive 10-county definition, including Kern and San Luis Obispo counties, is also used based on historical political divisions. Southern California is a major economic center for the state of California and the United States.
The 8- and 10-county definitions are not used for the greater Southern California Megaregion, one of the 11 megaregions of the United States. The megaregion's area is more expansive, extending east into Las Vegas, Nevada, and south across the Mexican border into Tijuana.

Albert Louis Hammond OBE (born 18 May 1944) is a Gibraltarian singer, songwriter, and record producer who grew up in the British Mediterranean territory of Gibraltar.
Birth and early success
Hammond was born in London, England, to where his family had been evacuated from Gibraltar during World War II. His family returned to Gibraltar shortly after his birth, and it is there he grew up. In 1960, he started in music with Gibraltarian band The Diamond Boys, which had no real commercial success, but played a part in Spain's introduction to pop and rock music. The Diamond Boys performed at the first nightclubs in Madrid to stage modern bands alongside Spanish rock and roll pioneers such as Miguel Ríos. In 1966 Hammond co-founded the British vocal group the Family Dogg, scoring a UK Top 10 hit with "A Way of Life" in 1969.
Main career
He also wrote songs for others with frequent collaborator Mike Hazlewood. These include "Little Arrows" for Leapy Lee, "Make Me An Island" (1969) (which Hammond himself re-recorded in 1979, in a Spanish disco-style version), and "You're Such a Good Looking Woman" (1970) for Joe Dolan, "Gimme Dat Ding" for the Pipkins in 1970 (itself a cover from the Freddie and the Dreamers album, Oliver in the Overworld), "Good Morning Freedom" for Blue Mink, "Freedom Come, Freedom Go" for the Fortunes in 1971 and "The Air That I Breathe" which was a hit for the Hollies in 1974. In 1971. Hammond also sang on Michael Chapman's fourth album, Wrecked Again, and worked briefly with the Magic Lanterns on recordings of his and Hazlewood's songs and other material.

Traveling is always wonderful. If you're on the road and without a worry in the world, it seems like a fantasy. If that road happens to be along the West Coast of the United States, it´s like a Hollywood movie. When these scenes take place in Hollywood, Venice Beach, Santa Barbara, Big Sur, Orange County,etc: watching the sunset every evening at a different Californian beach, the trip becomes better than fiction. A swarm of earthquakes that rattled the Salton Sea area earlier this week has increased the probability of a major quake hitting Southern California.
The California Office of Emergency Services (OES) issued an earthquake advisory warning residents and officials in Ventura, San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, Kern and Imperial counties that there was a greater possibility of a major earthquake through Oct. 7.
More than 140 seismic events have been recorded near Bombay Beach beginning Monday ranging from magnitude 1.4 to 4.3, according to U.S. Geological Services (USGS) seismologists.

Hi guys, I'm Veronica Hill with California Travel Tips. If you're a subscriber to this channel, you're either planning a trip to California, or you're a resident looking for new places to check out. Today I'm going to share some of my Top 10 travel tips for visiting California like a local.
Tip No. 1: Book California State Park campgrounds exactly 7 months before you want to visit on http://www.ReserveAmerica.com. If you're hoping to score a busy holiday like the Fourth of July, reserve a few dates in the end of June, then add a few days to your visit. Securing a campground in Yosemite is also tricky. You'll need to log into http://www.Recreation.gov a few minutes before 7 a.m. on the 15th of the month — five months in advance of your visit. Popular campgrounds in the valley sell out in seconds! For example, if you want to book a stay between June 15 and July 14, you need to book on February 15.
Tip No. 2: If you're going to Disneyland, take advantage of the FastPass service. Just insert your park ticket into the kiosk for a designated FastPass ride and you'll receive a ticket allowing you to return later and cut the line. I've found it's handy to have one person gather all of your tickets to get the Fast Pass while you wait in line for another attraction. If you have kids too small to ride an attraction, the Baby Switch Pass is another good bet. Just ask a cast member for the pass at the entrance. Make sure you ride the most popular attractions right when the park opens. Knott's has a similar service called FastLane, but you have to pay for it.
Tip No. 3: Avoid traveling in the summer if you can. Most of the amusement parks are packed to capacity, with long lines and hot waits in the sun. The fall and winter sees much fewer crowds, and the hotels are cheaper too.
Tip No. 4: Get on the Groupon list for each city you are visiting. You'll be able to get discounts on some really cool attractions and restaurants you may not have considered before. If you want great hotel rates, check out sites like Priceline or Hotel Tonight for last-minute lodging.
Tip No. 5: If you plan on visiting several theme parks or attractions, look into the Go Card or City Pass. They offer discounts on many of the most popular sights in LA, San Diego and San Francisco. If you're a Costco member, many warehouses sell discount tickets to theme parks, restaurants and sporting events.
Tip. No. 6: If there's an expensive restaurant you want to try, go during happy hour. Often you'll get to sample their best dishes and drinks at half the price.
Tip No. 7: Families should plan their San Diego vacations in October, when the city hosts its Kids Free month. Many of the area's most popular attractions, including San Diego Zoo, the Wild Animal Park and Balboa Park are free for kids 12 and under.
Tip No. 8: If your favorite hotel or campground is booked, try again seven days in advance. This is when many people cancel their reservations to avoid penalties.
Tip No. 9: If you're heading to more than one of the seven California national parks, consider getting the annual pass for $80. Admission is free for all the parks in April during National Parks Week, and in November during Veterans Day weekend.
Tip No. 10: For the best fares, book your trip midweek for flights departing and arriving on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. The cheapest rates can often be found online between 10 p.m. Wednesdays and 6 a.m. Thursdays around the 7th of each month. Additionally, the cheapest fares are found 7, 14 and 21 days before you leave.

A wildfire fanned by high winds burning a drought-parched Southern California wildland on Tuesday (October 18) threatened a Southern California Gas Co. facility in Porter Ranch, NBC reported. More than 100 firefighters were battling the blaze, dubbed the "Sesnon Fire", that has consumed about 15 acres near Sesnon Boulevard which borders Porter Ranch. Strong winds of 20-38 miles per hour were complicating the fire fighting operation in the area near an Aliso Canyon Storage Facility, one of the largest natural gas utilities in the United States. SAN BERNARDINO — A man armed with a windshield wiper was arrested Monday after leading officers on a pursuit through the Inland Empire ending with a CHP officer being called a hero. The chase began shortly before 9:30 a.m. in the Riverside area, according to California Highway Patrol officers. Driving a stolen Toyota Camry, Edward Nader, 51, led officers along the eastbound 10 Freeway to the 215 Freeway where he reached speeds well over 100 miles per hour. At one point, the Nader pulled over and began to walk along the Palm Avenue overpass. Authorities stopped traffic in both directions while Nader appeared to ponder jumping over the side of the freeway. Also, let me add that California instructors generally teach new drivers to turn into the lane that you will eventually need. In regards to some requests to put the names of neighborhoods on the corner of each clip, I tried that and I was not happy with the way it turned out, especially with the amount of extra work I would have to put in. If anything, googling street names found in a clip would give you its location if you're curious and you're always welcome to ask.

Hope you guys enjoy! Here's a recap of some of the close calls, hilarious moments, and memorable events while driving around Southern California.
When creating this, I could not believe how sparingly I uploaded (only about ~10 compilations in 1.5 years), so thanks to the most of you guys for being awesomely patient. Just to clear up some of your worries, I would like to continue uploading as I so far still enjoy making these videos and have no reason to outright stop, but things can get busy for me and having irregular uploads is just an unavoidable consequence. With that said, I hope you enjoy!

On an epic summer day in Southern California, waves crash against the rocky bluffs of Palos Verdes. The land jutting out into the ocean is full of tide pools containing sea anemones, star fish, hermit crabs and other ocean critters. Parts of the beach are rocky, while other areas are sandy and perfect for luxuriating in the sun. Whether sunbathing or exploring, this is the perfect place to relax.
I was realizing the other day that I've posted videos from Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii, Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado and probably a few states that I'm forgetting right now. Where should I go next? :)
Let the peaceful sound of ocean waves calm your mind and help you sleep or study.

SAN BERNARDINO — A man armed with a windshield wiper was arrested Monday after leading officers on a pursuit through the Inland Empire ending with a CHP officer being called a hero.
The chase began shortly before 9:30 a.m. in the Riverside area, according to California Highway Patrol officers.
Driving a stolen Toyota Camry, Edward Nader, 51, led officers along the eastbound 10 Freeway to the 215 Freeway where he reached speeds well over 100 miles per hour.
At one point, the Nader pulled over and began to walk along the Palm Avenue overpass. Authorities stopped traffic in both directions while Nader appeared to ponder jumping over the side of the freeway.
A short while later, authorities move in to try and negotiate with Nader, who waved the windshield wiper aimlessly in the air.
CHP officer Reynaldo Avalos bear-hugged the man from behind, bringing him back over the ledge and onto the pavement.
Nader yelled about needing a job as he was put into an ambulance. “The system doesn’t work. The system doesn’t work,” he yelled. “That’s it. Trying to get a job.”
Nader was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence, felony evading, resisting arrest and driving a stolen vehicle.
At one point, Avalos says he was nearly kicked in the face.
“He had blood,” he said. “I don’t know exactly how he got injured, he had blood and I had blood all over my uniform.”
Avalos, who has worked for the CHP for nearly 18 years, says he was able to use some Jiu-Jitsu training.
“There was so many things going on so quickly and I knew if I didn’t take the opportunity that I could’ve been worse,” Avalos said.
The officer has been called a hero but he disagrees.
“We’re out here to help people,” he said. “We’re out here to keep them from hurting themselves. That’s what I try to do. Luckily for me it worked out.”
Paramedics transported Nader to a hospital for a large gash on his leg that he sustained in the standoff.
No other injuries were reported.
