Plot: Teacher François Marin and his colleagues are preparing for another school year teaching at a racially mixed inner city high school in Paris. The teachers talk to each other about their prospective students, both the good and the bad. The teachers collectively want to inspire their students, but each teacher is an individual who will do things in his or her own way to achieve the results they desire. They also have differing viewpoints on the students themselves, and how best to praise and discipline them. The administration of the school tries to be as fair as possible, which includes having student representatives sit on the student evaluation committee. Marin's class this year of fourteen and fifteen year olds is no different than previous years, although the names and faces have changed. Marin tries to get through to his students, sometimes with success and sometimes resulting in utter failure. Even Marin has his breaking point, which may result in him doing things he would probably admit to himself are wrong. But after all is said and done, there is next year and another group of students.

Plot: At the port of Sète, Mr. Slimani, a tired 60-year-old, drags himself toward a shipyard job that has become more and more difficult to cope with as the years go by. He is a divorced father who forces himself to stay close to his family despite the schisms and tensions that are easily sparked off and that financial difficulties make even more intense. He is going through a delicate period in his life and, recently, everything seems to make him feel useless: a failure. He wants to escape from it all and set up his own restaurant. However, it appears to be an unreachable dream given his meager, irregular salary that is not anywhere near enough to supply what he needs to realize his ambition. But he can still dream and talk about it with his family in particular. A family that gradually gives its support to this project, which comes to symbolize the means to a better life. Thanks to its ingeniousness and hard work, this dream soon becomes a reality...or almost....

Plot: The movie takes place in a poverty-stricken, rent-controlled neighborhood on the outskirts of Paris. Algerian immigrants, many of whom are in France illegally, the place has earned the nickname of "100%Arabica". It's a rough neighborhood - crime is rampant, gangs of juvenile delinquents roam the streets, and the police are afraid to patrol the area. When the out-of-touch mayor decides that he wants to restore order to the area, he offers a subsidy to Slimane, the imam of the local mosque. If Slimane can get people off the streets, the mayor will continue the payments. Soon the byways of 100%Arabica are almost peaceful - but not because of something Slimane has done. The reason is that a new Rai Band, Rap Oriental, has taken the neighborhood by storm...

Genres: Comedy, Drama,All I can see is what I've fried
And all the world in your black eye
I'll run in circles all the time
I'll gather up all that is mine
Into the room inside my head
The walls are black, the roof is red
And fiery like a volcano, I wear it like a massive halo
This pretty speckled length of twine
That's wrapped around your neck is mine
A ruby rose, stiffed and froze is what I give to you
I'll run in circles all the time
I'll gather up all that is mine
Into the room inside my head
The walls are black, the roof is red
If I could taste your salty head
And pick your the dead hair from my eyes
An' let you smell the sweet despise
Those peaks and trusts guts for a valley
Are a dead scene in my back alley
How tall and wide you have to get?
How big and dark and badly lit?
And if I said I did, would you believe me
And I showed you gold
Would you see through me
And if tomorrow didn't come
Oh would you?
I'll run in circles all the time
I'll gather up all that is mine
Into the room inside my head
The walls are black, the roof is red
I'll run in circles all the time
