Porcelain

Porcelain is a ceramic material made by heating materials, generally including kaolin, in a kiln to temperatures between 1,200 and 1,400 °C (2,200 and 2,600 °F). The toughness, strength and translucence of porcelain, relative to other types of pottery, arises mainly from vitrification and the formation of the mineral mullite within the body at these high temperatures.

Porcelain derives its present name from the old Italian porcellana (cowrie shell) because of its resemblance to the translucent surface of the shell. Porcelain can informally be referred to as china or fine china in some English-speaking countries, as China was the birthplace of porcelain making.Properties associated with porcelain include low permeability and elasticity; considerable strength, hardness, toughness, whiteness, translucency and resonance; and a high resistance to chemical attack and thermal shock.

Porcelain has been described as being "completely vitrified, hard, impermeable (even before glazing), white or artificially coloured, translucent (except when of considerable thickness), and resonant." However, the term porcelain lacks a universal definition and has "been applied in a very unsystematic fashion to substances of diverse kinds which have only certain surface-qualities in common".

All the Things (Your Man Won't Do)

"All the Things (Your Man Won't Do)" is a song co-written, co-produced and performed by American contemporary R&B singer Joe. The song originally appeared on the soundtrack to the film Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood and was later included as the opening track on his second studio album All That I Am. It was his first hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #11 in 1996.

The single was certified gold by the RIAA on April 10, 1996.

The Joker Is Wild (album)

The Joker is Wild was the second album released by Alex Harvey after the demise of The Soul Band. The album was released in 1972. Some time after 1972 the album The Joker Is Wild was reissued and repackaged, the album song listings stayed the same, but the album was credited as being made by "The Sensational Alex Harvey Band" even though this band did not exist at the time, and the title was changed to This Is.

Background

The album was recorded at Regent Sound Studio, London in early 1972. These songs are unfinished demos only, recorded for a Spanish singer named Tony Caldeira (who wrote "The Joker Is Wild" and "Silhouette and Shadow"). Alex was teaching Tony vocal delivery and phrasing. Alex received a cheque for the session which subsequently bounced. The producer, Paul Murphy, sold the tapes to Metronome Records in Germany and they issued the LP as The Joker Is Wild in 1972. This Is SAHB is a low budget reissue of "Joker" intended to cash in on SAHB's success (even though Zal, Chris, Ted and Hugh weren't involved with the recordings). The photo of SAHB on the sleeve features keyboard player John Martin on the far left.

Stephan Moccio (born October 20, 1972) is a Grammy and Academy Award nominated composer, producer, pianist, arranger, conductor and recording artist. He co-wrote and co-produced the two end credit songs for Fifty Shades of Grey and the Fifty Shades of Grey (soundtrack) - Earned It (The Weeknd) and I Know You (Skylar Grey). He also co-wrote Miley Cyrus' single Wrecking Ball from her 2013 studio album Bangerz. He co-wrote Celine Dion's hit "A New Day Has Come" with Aldo Nova, which reached and held the number one spot on the Billboard AC Chart for a record breaking 21 weeks. For the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, Moccio co-wrote the theme song “I Believe” performed by Nikki Yanofsky. He has collaborated with artists such as Seal, The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding, Shaffer "Ne-Yo" Smith, Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban, John Legend, BeBe Winans, Gladys Knight, Skylar Grey, Randy Jackson, Jordan Smith, DJ Khalil, Carole Bayer Sager, JC Chasez, Fergie, BC Jean, Planet VI, Boi-1da, as a songwriter, musician and producer. Moccio was one of the three judges on Canada's Got Talent, alongside comedian Martin Short.
