Victoria Derby 2016: Finishing order and results

FIND out where your horse finished in the Victoria Derby, what the jockeys said and the TAB dividends for the Flemington classic.

MELBOURNE CUP: FORM GUIDE

1. PRIZED ICON

Glyn Schofield: “After I won the Champagne (Stakes) on him as a two-year-old, I said to James (Cummings), this is a Derby horse, he’ll win the Derby, but he wasn’t so sure about that. Horses give you that impression when you ride them and he certainly did that.”

2. SCARED ELIXIR

Zac Purton: “He raced alright. He had his chance.”

3. INFERENCE

Dwayne Dunn: “He went super. I had a super run in the race from the barrier. Everything was going nicely until the top of the straight. So Si Bon extended better than me and pushed me back in behind them and I just got blocked again at the 200 metres so it was a super effort.”

4. SO SI BON

Hugh Bowman: “He’s a very exciting horse but just lacking that maturity at the moment. I didn’t give him the best ride and it told late but he’s a good horse for the future.”

5. SWEAR

Tommy Berry: “He’s done well at the end of the day. He was caught wide early, we got in and had a nice run from there on but he got flushed out early as well. It was a good effort.”

6. HOLLYWOOD MO

Stephen Baster: “He ran very well. Sacred Elixir sort of pushed us around where he wanted to, but he ran really well.”

7. ROCKETEER

Mark Zahra: “He had a beautiful run, he just didn’t end up staying.”

8. HIGHLAD

Craig Williams: “Murray’s done a great job with him. He didn’t have the horse pulling but I just felt the gear he had on today, he was just a bit reluctant to stretch out. He hung out going around the first turn, but he really stayed on nicely up the home straight.”

9. BEACH LIFE

Nicholas Hall: “He’s just a tired horse, they’re going to put him out.”

10. SILVERA

Kerrin McEvoy: “He got stirred up and the occasion got to him.”

11. TUMULTUOUS

Ben Melham: “He jumped well and landed close but I just reckon he wants the jar out of the track to see his best.”

12. WINE BUSH

Joao Moreira: “He’s a very inexperienced type of horse. He’s still far away from being ready to win races like this.”

13. CAPTAIN DUFFY

Craig Newitt: “We overraced a little bit early but settled midrace. He just raced a bit flat.”

14. KENT

James McDonald: “I got a lovely run, he just didn’t stay the trip.”

15. ALL OUT OF LOVE

Blake Shinn: “The horse just failed to stay.”

16. MORVADA

Steven Arnold: “He went too hard.”
