Brian Aubrey Marshall (born April 24, 1973) is an American musician, songwriter, and real estate broker best known as the bassist and co-founder of the rock bands Creed and Alter Bridge.
Marshall was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He started out his music career by playing his father's drums. He states that after scratching his father's drum set a few times, his dad decided it was time to buy him a bass guitar. He cites Steve Harris, John Entwistle, Geddy Lee, Justin Chancellor, and Doug Pinnick as major influences.
After being recruited into the band as a full-fledged member by Scott Stapp and Mark Tremonti, Marshall came up with the name Creed, which had previously been known as Naked Toddler, after a band he was in earlier called Mattox Creed. He was in Creed until late 2000, when personal issues with vocalist Scott Stapp led him to depart the band after criticizing Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder during a radio interview, though some sources state that Marshall was fired. Marshall, however, remains silent about this issue and does not state the reasoning behind his departure. For Creed's third album, Weathered, guitarist Mark Tremonti played bass. Brett Hestla played bass during live performances. Due to his playing style he developed the nickname "The Sloth."
Alter Bridge is an American rock band from Orlando, Florida, formed in 2004. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Myles Kennedy, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips. Since the band's formation, there have been no line-up changes. The band is known for their acclaimed live shows and extensive touring support on all continents.
Following Creed's disbandment in 2004, former members Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips began working with Kennedy, formerly of The Mayfield Four. Named after a bridge that once existed on Alter Road near Tremonti's former home in Detroit, Michigan, Alter Bridge released its debut album, One Day Remains, the same year. Despite mixed reviews, One Day Remains went on to be certified Gold by the RIAA. Driven by the release of the single "Rise Today", the band released its second album, Blackbird, to more positive reviews in 2007, embarking on a successful world tour in support.
Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips reunited with Creed for a tour and album in 2009, while Kennedy recorded two songs for guitarist Slash's self-titled solo album in 2010, before fronting his band for a supporting tour. During this time, Alter Bridge continued to write material, and released its third album, AB III, in 2010 to critical acclaim, while the single "Isolation" became the band's most successful single to date. The band embarked on a world tour in support of AB III from 2010 to 2012.
Brian (sometimes spelled Bryan) is a male given name of Irish and Breton origin, as well as a surname of Occitan origin. It is common in the English-speaking world. It is possible that the name is derived from an Old Celtic word meaning "high" or "noble". For example, the element bre means "hill"; which could be transferred to mean "eminence" or "exalted one". The name is quite popular in Ireland, on account of Brian Boru, a 10th-century king of Ireland. The name was also quite popular in East Anglia during the Middle Ages. This is because the name was introduced to England by Bretons following the Norman Conquest. Bretons also settled in Ireland along with the Normans in the 12th century, and 'their' name was mingled with the 'Irish' version. Also, in the north-west of England, the 'Irish' name was introduced by Scandinavian settlers from Ireland. Within the Gaelic speaking areas of Scotland, the name was at first only used by professional families of Irish origin. It was the fourth most popular male name in England and Wales in 1934, but a sharp decline followed over the remainder of the 20th century and by 1994 it had fallen out of the top 100. It retained its popularity in the United States for longer; its most popular period there was from 1968–1979 when it consistently ranked between eighth and tenth.

Mark Thomas Tremonti (born April 18, 1974) is an American musician, singer and songwriter, best known as the guitarist of the post-grunge band Creed and lead guitarist of the alternative metal band Alter Bridge. He is a founding member of both bands, and has also collaborated with many other artists over the years. He formed his own band, Tremonti, in 2012, releasing the album All I Was. The band's sophomore album, Cauterize, was released in June 2015.
Since his early years with Creed, Tremonti has received positive recognition as a guitarist and songwriter and has received a number of accolades, including one Grammy Award for Creed's single "With Arms Wide Open." He was also named "Guitarist of the Year" for three consecutive years by Guitar World, and in 2011 he was listed in Total Guitar magazine as the fourth greatest heavy metal guitarist of all time.
Tremonti was born on April 18, 1974, in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in an Italian Roman Catholic family in Grosse Pointe, just outside Detroit, for most of his childhood life before moving to Wilmette, Illinois. He began to become enthralled with music, and bought his first guitar at the age of eleven. When he was fifteen, his family moved again to Orlando, Florida, where he enrolled in Lake Highland Preparatory School. During this time, his mother was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus, which left Tremonti devastated. After graduation, he moved to Clemson, South Carolina to attend Clemson University to major in finance. After his freshman year in college, he moved back to Florida to enroll in Florida State University, where he was reunited with his then future Creed band mate Scott Stapp, who Tremonti had known in high school.

Wishes For Warriors On this episode of Gritty Bowmen we visit with a GIANT man--Bryan Marshall, founder of Wishes For Warriors. And I’m not kidding. His head his huge. He’s built like a tank. He walks sideways through doors… or perhaps, he just kicks them in. We also meet with his two amigos and wounded warriors, Corey Garmon and Cameron Stuart. We learn about his foundation, Wishes for Warriors, and how they’re making a difference in the lives of wounded veterans. These guys are solid. I’ve been known to complain, on occasion, about leg cramps, blisters, and chaffing… and I feel like it’s justified… until I meet someone like Corey Garmon. The dude is a triple amputee and he’s out hiking the hills and killing big bulls. These guys straight-up inspire. To learn more about Wishes For Warrio...
