Andrés Useche is an award-winning Colombian American writer, film director, graphic artist, singer-songwriter and activist.
Andres Useche was born in Manizales, Colombia where he published his first political cartoon, "Soy Libre", at age 11. In high school, he won the Colombian Ministry of Culture Individual Creation Prize in Graphic Arts with his graphic novel Vana Espuma ("Idle Mist"). The film had a minuscule $100 budget but won the Best Fiction Film, Best screenplay and Best actress César Awards, along with other nominations for Useche for Best Actor and Best Music.
After graduating as a visual designer with emphasis on Film from the Universidad de Caldas, Useche moved to the Los Angeles, California to work as a screenwriter, eventually becoming a United States citizen.
Andres or Andrés may refer to:
Andrés:
Eric Byler (born January 15, 1972) is an American film director, screenwriter and political activist.
Byler identifies as hapa biracial, born to a Chinese American mother and a white American father. He grew up in Virginia, Hawaii (where he attended Moanalua High School), and California. He graduated from Wesleyan University in 1994, majoring in film. He currently lives in Northern Virginia.
Byler's senior thesis film, Kenji's Faith, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 1995, went on to win six film festival awards, and was a regional finalist in the Student Academy Awards.
His first feature film, Charlotte Sometimes was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards in 2003, including the John Cassavetes Award for Best Feature under $500,000, and a Best Supporting Actress award for Jacqueline Kim. The film was called "fascinating and illuminating" by film critic Roger Ebert, and won the Audience Award at South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW), the Special Jury Award at the Florida Film Festival, and the Best Dramatic Feature at the San Diego Asian Film Festival. The film was distributed theatrically by Visionbox Media and Small Planet Pictures before being released on DVD.
Annabel Park (Korean: 박수현) is a Korean American documentary filmmaker, political activist and community volunteer.
Born in 1968 in Seoul, South Korea, Annabel immigrated to the United States with her family when she was nine years old, and was raised in Texas and Maryland. She studied Philosophy at Boston University and Political Theory at Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar.
Park has worked in her family owned truck diner, worked as a nanny in New York and briefly worked in strategic planning at the New York Times as a strategy analyst. She has also worked as playwright, theater director, and documentary film maker.
Park was the national coordinator for a network of second-generation Korean Americans, the 121 Coalition, and was instrumental in the passing of House Resolution 121. She co-directed and produced the documentary, 9500 Liberty, about the battle over the "Immigration Resolution" law in Virginia.
She is a co-founding member and was initially the de facto-coordinator of Coffee Party USA, an organization which described itself as a fact-based, non-partisan and solutions-based network that considered itself to be a "more thoughtful and reasoned alternative to the Tea Party." Park served for a time as spokesperson and Advisory Board member for Coffee Party USA. She has since departed the organization due to dissatisfaction with its governance process. She was a volunteer for Jim Webb's 2006 US Senate campaign and for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.
The DREAM Act (acronym for Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) is an American legislative proposal for a multi-phase process for illegal immigrants in the United States that would first grant conditional residency and upon meeting further qualifications, permanent residency.
The bill was first introduced in the Senate on August 1, 2001, S. 1291 by Dick Durbin and Orrin Hatch, and has since been reintroduced several times (see legislative history) but has failed to pass.
Requirements for conditional resident status
After having obtained and held conditional resident status, permanent residency may be granted if the following requirements have been met in a period of six years.

"Que significa desaparecer? En Aún Aquí, una joven es secuestrada y con cada día que pasa siente que se esta desvaneciendo. Se aferra a sus memorias para seguir conectada a la realidad exterior.
