Sight & Sound is a British monthly film magazine published by the British Film Institute (BFI).
Sight & Sound was first published in 1932 and in 1934 management of the magazine was handed to the nascent BFI, which still publishes the magazine today. Sight & Sound was published quarterly for most of its history until the early 1990s, apart from a brief run as a monthly publication in the early 1950s, but in 1991 it merged with another BFI publication, the Monthly Film Bulletin, and started to appear monthly. The journal was edited by Gavin Lambert from 1949 to 1955, and from 1956 to 1990 by Penelope Houston. The relaunch editor was Philip Dodd. It is currently edited by Nick James. The magazine reviews all film releases each month, including those with a limited (art house) release, as opposed to most film magazines which concentrate on those films with a general release. Sight & Sound features a full cast and crew credit list for each reviewed film.

Tracklisting is below this description... YouTube user cisumetihW recently posted 3 tracks from this, but they're in black & white and even as the uploader stated, the quality is not that good. So here's a copy I put together from clips that were once on YouTube, yet after a quick search, all appear to have since vanished apart from one (track 6) But I think people will appreciate that although the footage here is still far from dvd quality, it is in colour and I have synced it to a stereo audio source. I'm not sure if these clips made up the full TV broadcast but they're all I was ever able to find. So crank up the volume and enjoy the set... In this excerpt from A Place For Film - The IU Cinema Podcast we're celebrating our 100th episode. We're joined by film scholar James Naremore to talk about the Sight and Sound poll. Jim had a vote on the list that recently came out, placing Vertigo as the #1 film of all time, displacing Citizen Kane. Jason and Andy come up with their own lists and we share and discuss them in this episode. In part 1, we discuss the importance (or unimportance) of the list, and give our first three films. The lists are alphabetized rather than ranked.
