Recreational drug use is the use of a drug (legal, controlled, or illegal) with the primary intention to alter the state of consciousness (through alteration of the central nervous system) in order to create positive emotions and feelings. The popular concept of this phenomenon puts it closer to a social behaviour that many places around the world tolerate rather than to serious medical conditions such as self-medication. When a substance enters the user's body, it brings on an intoxicating effect; in terms of psychoactive drugs, such as cannabis or MDMA, this is often referred to as a "high".
Drugs commonly considered capable of recreational use include ethanol, cannabis, nicotine, caffeine, and controlled substances within the scope of the United Nations' Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs and Convention on Psychotropic Substances. In 2009 it was estimated that about 3% to 6% of people aged 15 to 65 had used illegal drugs at least once (149 to 270 million).International and domestic law enforcement agencies are perpetually occupied with interdiction efforts against illegal drug use, manufacture, and distribution.

Some Abraham points: - We are not trying to talk you into or out of anything. - Drugs does mean less focus and less resistance and therefore they can put you in a clearer place of allowing. - But when you are utilising a substance, the sustaining of momentum is not the same. - The use of substances can put you in a place where you are softer and less resistant, but your ability to focus and remember and sustain your vibration is just not there. So it is a temporary solution. And when you come down from your 'high' you are more likely to pick up right where you left off. Excerpted from the Cancun, Mexico workshop of April 12-19, 2013. English Debating Class (503) "This house would allow recreational drugs"
Methamphetamine is a potent central nervous system (CNS) stimulant of the phenethylamine and amphetamine classes that is used as a recreational drug and, rarely, to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and obesity. Methamphetamine exists as two enantiomers, dextrorotary and levorotary.[note 2] Dextromethamphetamine is a stronger CNS stimulant than levomethamphetamine; however, both are neurotoxic, addictive and produce the same toxicity symptoms at high doses. Although rarely prescribed due to the potential risks, methamphetamine hydrochloride is approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) under the trade name Desoxyn. Recreationally, methamphetamine is used to increase sexual desire, lift the mood, and increase energy, allowing some users to engage ...
Gabriel embraces his shit-at-gamesness to spend an entire virtual college fund on the classic arcade coin thief while the conversation tangents like a fucking triangle factory through the topics of sexism in professional gaming, recreational drugs, and the misuse of the Bioshock Infinite logo. Also, we revisit the situation from back in the Final Fight video where I get terribly frustrated at Gabriel for seriously overthinking the concept of 'game of the year', but don't worry, we're still pals.
