Sensation (event)

Sensation is an indoor electronic dance music event which originated in the Netherlands and organized by ID&T. The original event, which ran exclusively in the Amsterdam ArenA for a period of five years until 2005, is now located throughout Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, United States, Brazil, Chile, Denmark, Germany, Korea, Romania, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, and United Arab Emirates. In 2008, it was announced that for the first time Sensation would be held on New Year's Eve in Melbourne, Australia, as well as in Düsseldorf, Germany and Barcelona, Spain, but has not been in these countries since.

ID&T announced in 2011 that Sensation would tour the United States of America in 2012 for the first time. The first Sensation USA event took place back-to-back nights on 26 and 27 October at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York City. The event was webcast on Xbox Live. ID&T also announced on 3 April 2012 that Sensation would also be making its debut in Asia, making stops in South Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan. In a press conference held in Seoul, Korea, it was revealed that the first Sensation Asia will be held in Seoul, Korea, on 21 July. After Sensation Korea the ‘Ocean of White’ show heads over to Bangkok, Thailand for a show on 18 August and to Kaohsiung, Taiwan on 29 September. All of which are a Co-Production between ID&T and Heineken Beer Company. On 5 February 2013 a Canadian debut was announced, presented by Bud Light Canada. It has been announced that Sensation will take place in Meydan Dubai, U.A.E on October 31, 2014,Monterrey, Mexico on November 8, 2014 and in Toronto, Canada on November 29, 2014.

Carnival Sensation

Carnival Sensation (formerly Sensation) is a Fantasy-class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line. Built by Kværner Masa-Yards at its Helsinki New Shipyard in Helsinki, Finland, she was floated out on November, 1, 1993, and christened Sensation by four Carnival Vice Presidents: Vicki L. Freed, Roberta Jacoby, Cherie Weinstein and Geri Donnelly.

During 2007, in common with all of her Fantasy-class sisters, she had the prefix Carnival added to her name.

The third ship to be built in the Fantasy class, Carnival Sensation returned to active cruise service on February 12, 2009, after an extensive drydocking and refit. During the refit, 98 private balconies were added to former ocean view rooms. An adults only sunning area called Serenity was added to Promenade Deck, aft. A children's water park area was installed on Verandah Deck, aft, in an area formerly used as a pool and sunning area. The Carnival Sensation's main pool area on Lido Deck, midship, was renovated and the water slide was removed. Other renovations included new carpeting in public spaces and in her main dining rooms, and a 4-story tall "Carnival Waterworks" waterslide was added at the aft of the ship.

Sensation (album)

Sensation, an album by Anúna, was released in 2006 on the Danú label. All music featured on the disc is original, written by the Irish composer Michael McGlynn.

Phoenix (Chinese astronomy)

The modern constellation Phoenix lies across one of the quadrants symbolized by the White Tiger of the West (西方白虎, Xī Fāng Bái Hǔ), and The Southern Asterisms (近南極星區, Jìnnánjíxīngōu), that divide the sky in traditional Chinese uranography.

According to the quadrant, constellation Phoenix in Chinese sky is not fully seen. Ankaa (Alpha Phoenicis) are bright stars in this constellation that possibly never seen in Chinese sky.

The name of the western constellation in modern Chinese is 鳳凰座 (fèng huáng zuò), which means "the phoenix constellation".

Phoenix (1792)

Phoenix was a ship involved in the maritime fur trade of the Pacific during the late 18th century.

Her captain was Hugh Moore, and her home port was Bombay. She is known to have visited the Pacific Northwest in 1792, and to have wintered in the Columbia River in 1794. Phoenix visited a prominent Haida village on Langara Island in 1792. As historian F. Howay recounted:

Sailing south to Alta California during March 1795, Phoenix traded for sea otter furs in Santa Barbara before visiting the Kingdom of Hawaii and later the Qing port of Guangzhou.William Marsden later employed the ship to collect several nutmeg and cloves for agricultural efforts in Sumatra. Phoenix delivered the cargo in July 1798 "a complete success."

Phoenix was the namesake of the Russian-American Company brig Phoenix, the first vessel built in Russian America by Alexandr Baranov.

Tingly

"Tingly" was a song recorded by Pop! featuring Angie Hart. It was written by Tony Stott and John Richards, as a side project from their band About Six Feet, and recorded in an hour on Good Friday 1995. The vocals were performed by Angie Hart, who was then in the highly successful band Frente. It was released at the end of 1995 and became a popular song on the radio, making it on to Triple J Hottest 100, 1995. It was also featured in dozens of episodes of Neighbours and Home and Away, and was featured on the first "Home and Away" soundtrack album.

Named "Single of the Week" in both Beat Magazine and 3D, and "Single Of The Year" in the Sydney Telegraph Mirror, "Tingly" was particularly loved by JJJ's Richard Kingsmill. Kingsmill was instrumental in its release, having played it repeatedly when it was sent to him as a demo recording. He was originally asked to stop playing it by White Records, home of Frente, who had not given permission for Hart to make the recording. In the end, White - somewhat begrudgingly - released it as a 5-track single, but refused to make a video for it. There was concern in the company that the song would harm Frente's move to a more adult sound, which they were trying with the Shape album (released a year later in 1996). While never a hit, it received critical acclaim and sold well over a long period.
