Creating a handmade custom DIY surreal art collage is easy! I share my tips and techniques on how I create my analog collages as I cut out pictures and illustrations out by hand with a small pair of scissors and a craft knife. Finding inspiration from old books is one of the most fun steps to this process. These can come from used books, encyclopedias, magazines, vintage postcards, or anything else you can find lying around your house. I find most of my books and magazines from thrift stores, antique stores, flea markets, Craigslist, or even on the side of the road! Watch as I arrange my elements and try different ideas as I talk through my process to create my final design.
Collages made out of paper have a custom made feel that you can't get from a digital collage made in Photoshop. And, there is an added challenge of only being able to use materials that you have access to!

How I Collage... and Why.
Welcome back to another BobBlast!
I prefer paintings that have a well-traveled storyline. I can feel the artist's involvement and appreciate the time it took to complete the finished painting.
For me, adding bits of collage paper throughout the whole painting process keeps me entertained and creatively involved. Like a kid playing in a sandbox... I glue paper pieces down, add paint, glue more paper pieces, scrape, scrumble and wipe away to reveal the surprises underneath.
After this initial blast of creative energy in the first few minutes, I stop and let the the whole thing dry. While it is drying, I take the time to study the painting so I can make any adjustments with color and paper - until the image conveys a clear message and matches the title... clearly.
By the way, I'm not too fond of collage paintings that have randomly placed "scrapes" and glued papers that have no connection to the overall piece - or to each other. They just look like what the artist did... glued down paper pieces with no solid intention other than hope something "creative" shows up.

There are quite a few good books available on collage techniques. I prefer to keep my materials simple, add intricate textured surprises and make a painting I have never seen me make before.
But wait! There's more! No holding back at this point. I like to use soft charcoal vine sticks to draw back into the painting - just because I like to draw. The dirtiest charcoal crumbling into the wet paint is just so wrong, but feels so right.

Collage
Collage (from the French: coller, "to glue";French pronunciation: [kɔ.laːʒ]) is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.
A collage may sometimes include magazine and newspaper clippings, ribbons, paint, bits of colored or handmade papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas. The origins of collage can be traced back hundreds of years, but this technique made a dramatic reappearance in the early 20th century as an art form of novelty.
The term collage was coined by both Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso in the beginning of the 20th century when collage became a distinctive part of modern art.

Collage (U-KISS album)
Collage is the third full album by k-pop boy band UKISS. The title track is "Standing Still"
Release
On February 28, 2013 photo teasers were released of all of the members. The photo teasers had a "dreamlike look with translucent and hazy colors." The album was released at 12PM (KST)on March 7, 2013. Due to unknown difficulties the music video was released a day later after the full album on March 8, 2013.
Solos and duets on the album
On March 3, 2013 it was announced that there would be 3 solos and duets on the album. Kevin performed a solo called My Reason, Eli and AJ made a duet called Party All the Time, and Soohyun and Hoon also performed a duet which they promoted called More Painful Than Pain.

How I Collage... and Why. Welcome back to another BobBlast! I prefer paintings that have a well-traveled storyline. I can feel the artist's involvement and appreciate the time it took to complete the finished painting. For me, adding bits of collage paper throughout the whole painting process keeps me entertained and creatively involved. Like a kid playing in a sandbox... I glue paper pieces down, add paint, glue more paper pieces, scrape, scrumble and wipe away to reveal the surprises underneath. After this initial blast of creative energy in the first few minutes, I stop and let the the whole thing dry. While it is drying, I take the time to study the painting so I can make any adjustments with color and paper - until the image conveys a clear message and matches the title... clearly...

Creating a handmade custom DIY surreal art collage is easy! I share my tips and techniques on how I create my analog collages as I cut out pictures and illustrations out by hand with a small pair of scissors and a craft knife. Finding inspiration from old books is one of the most fun steps to this process. These can come from used books, encyclopedias, magazines, vintage postcards, or anything else you can find lying around your house. I find most of my books and magazines from thrift stores, antique stores, flea markets, Craigslist, or even on the side of the road! Watch as I arrange my elements and try different ideas as I talk through my process to create my final design.
Collages made out of paper have a custom made feel that you can't get from a digital collage made in Photoshop. And, there is an added challenge of only being able to use materials that you have access to!

How I Collage... and Why.
Welcome back to another BobBlast!
I prefer paintings that have a well-traveled storyline. I can feel the artist's involvement and appreciate the time it took to complete the finished painting.
For me, adding bits of collage paper throughout the whole painting process keeps me entertained and creatively involved. Like a kid playing in a sandbox... I glue paper pieces down, add paint, glue more paper pieces, scrape, scrumble and wipe away to reveal the surprises underneath.
After this initial blast of creative energy in the first few minutes, I stop and let the the whole thing dry. While it is drying, I take the time to study the painting so I can make any adjustments with color and paper - until the image conveys a clear message and matches the title... clearly.
By the way, I'm not too fond of collage paintings that have randomly placed "scrapes" and glued papers that have no connection to the overall piece - or to each other. They just look like what the artist did... glued down paper pieces with no solid intention other than hope something "creative" shows up.
And finally - the collage material I prefer is ordinary black ink Xerox copies of patterns and textures. Here is a link for copyright free patterns - https://www.graphicstock.com/images/pattern

There are quite a few good books available on collage techniques. I prefer to keep my materials simple, add intricate textured surprises and make a painting I have never seen me make before.
But wait! There's more! No holding back at this point. I like to use soft charcoal vine sticks to draw back into the painting - just because I like to draw. The dirtiest charcoal crumbling into the wet paint is just so wrong, but feels so right.

Creating a handmade custom DIY surreal art collage is easy! I share my tips and techniques on how I create my analog collages as I cut out pictures and illustrations out by hand with a small pair of scissors and a craft knife. Finding inspiration from old books is one of the most fun steps to this process. These can come from used books, encyclopedias, magazines, vintage postcards, or anything else you can find lying around your house. I find most of my books and magazines from thrift stores, antique stores, flea markets, Craigslist, or even on the side of the road! Watch as I arrange my elements and try different ideas as I talk through my process to create my final design.
Collages made out of paper have a custom made feel that you can't get from a digital collage made in Photoshop. And, there is an added challenge of only being able to use materials that you have access to!

You'll recognize the photo albums in Jacob Intilé's studio. Lots of people have them — the kind with the cardboard pages inside covered by plastic that sticks uncomfortably; over time, everything starts to yellow and decay. They're usually crammed with old family photos or yearbook pics. But in Intilé's world, the same albums are carefully arranged page by page with cutouts of vegetal tendrils; pictures of hands; geometric pieces of constellations, animal bones, birds.

How I Collage... and Why.
Welcome back to another BobBlast!
I prefer paintings that have a well-traveled storyline. I can feel the artist's involvement and appreciate the time it took to complete the finished painting.
For me, adding bits of collage paper throughout the whole painting process keeps me entertained and creatively involved. Like a kid playing in a sandbox... I glue paper pieces down, add paint, glue more paper pieces, scrape, scrumble and wipe away to reveal the surprises underneath.
After this initial blast of creative energy in the first few minutes, I stop and let the the whole thing dry. While it is drying, I take the time to study the painting so I can make any adjustments with color and paper - until the image conveys a clear message and matches the title... clearly.
By the way, I'm not too fond of collage paintings that have randomly placed "scrapes" and glued papers that have no connection to the overall piece - or to each other. They just look like what the artist did... glued down paper pieces with no solid intention other than hope something "creative" shows up.
And finally - the collage material I prefer is ordinary black ink Xerox copies of patterns and textures. Here is a link for copyright free patterns - https://www.graphicstock.com/images/pattern

There are quite a few good books available on collage techniques. I prefer to keep my materials simple, add intricate textured surprises and make a painting I have never seen me make before.
But wait! There's more! No holding back at this point. I like to use soft charcoal vine sticks to draw back into the painting - just because I like to draw. The dirtiest charcoal crumbling into the wet paint is just so wrong, but feels so right.

Collage
Collage (from the French: coller, "to glue";French pronunciation: [kɔ.laːʒ]) is a technique of an art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.
A collage may sometimes include magazine and newspaper clippings, ribbons, paint, bits of colored or handmade papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas. The origins of collage can be traced back hundreds of years, but this technique made a dramatic reappearance in the early 20th century as an art form of novelty.
The term collage was coined by both Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso in the beginning of the 20th century when collage became a distinctive part of modern art.
