Google Inc. is an American multinational technology company specializing in Internet-related services and products. These include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, and software. Most of its profits are derived from AdWords, an online advertising service that places advertising near the list of search results.
Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University. Together they own about 14 percent of its shares but control 56 percent of the stockholder voting power through supervoting stock. They incorporated Google as a privately held company on September 4, 1998. An initial public offering followed on August 19, 2004. Its mission statement from the outset was "to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful," and its unofficial slogan was "Don't be evil". In 2004, Google moved to its new headquarters in Mountain View, California, nicknamed the Googleplex. In August 2015, Google announced plans to reorganize its interests as a holding company called Alphabet Inc. When this restructuring took place on October 2, 2015, Google became Alphabet's leading subsidiary, as well as the parent for Google's Internet interests.

This episode is all about Hangouts. Many of our viewers asked for tips on how to use Hangouts at work and looked for uses cases where it makes sense to use Hangouts. So in this episode, The Apps Show team decided to take a concrete example, and show you the behind the scenes of our typical brainstorming work over a script. Jimmy and James showcase how Hangouts help them collaborate better, even when they are not located at the same office. They also remind us that a series of new Hangouts features have made collaboration smoother and more efficient. First of all, Jimmy shows the advantages of using Hangouts video call over Hangouts chat. A video conference is a best fit for discussions that need more than a few transactional interactions. In the case of a script brainstorming, a video c...

Focus on : Must Do in Venice (first Edition) My ambition with this first series of “Must Do" films is to guide you though Venice while avoiding the touristy traps. 1/ Get lost From the Far East to the far of the city, off the main touristy tracks, Venice will offer you a culture shock. The composition of the street due to the byzantine influence and relation with the water make this city a unique architectural treasure. Places: Castello, Biennale, Dorsoduro, Giudecca, North Cannaregio, Torcello… 2/ Eat and Drink like a Local Stop for a glass of wine like a local at Estro. This place offers an amazing collection of natural wine. More information on my Youtube Channel and website. One of the best things you can do to provide massive value for your audience is to conduct a free Q&A; session using Google Hangouts on Air. Not only is it free for your audience to join, but it's practically free for you to run as well. While this is a good opportunity for your audience to ask questions and learn even more from you, it's an extremely golden opportunity for you as well. A Q&A; session will help you become more authoritative in your niche. As someone who is fielding questions and answering them live, it puts you even more in the expert's chair Additionally, it creates an "enhanced experience" for your audience - something above and beyond the normal reader/listener/viewers experience, like an event or a gig that your audience can look forward to. It becomes another touch p...
