Hollywood’s biggest night in film has officially commenced and supporting or lead acting, we’re here to celebrate ALL the 2016 Oscar noms, and right now we’re shining the spotlight on this year’s best supporting actor.
So maybe you didn’t see this coming, or maybe you did, but regardless, tonight is Mark Rylance’s night to shine, this time off screen, after being awarded his very first Oscar.
Beating out fellow nominees Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Mark Ruffalo and this year’s presumed supporting actor frontrunner, Sylvester Stallone, Mark Rylance was recognized for his supporting role in Bridge of Spies, which also marks his very first Oscar nomination AND win.
In his acceptance speech, Mark gave many thanks to the film’s director and all-around LEGEND, Steven Spielberg, for having the privilege of working with such a talented creator. Take a look:
He also goes on to praise his costar Tom Hanks, saying QUOTE, “Steven leads with such love that he is surrounded by masters in every craft, not the least Mr. Tom Hanks.” He credited Tom for helping him throughout the duration of the film, and his gratitude for his costar is clearly evident in the remainder of his speech.

Supporting actor
A supporting actor is an actor who performs a role in a play or film below that of the leading actor(s), and above that of a bit part. In recognition of important nature of this work, the theater and film industries give separate awards to the best supporting actors and actresses.
These range from minor roles to principal players and are often pivotal or vital to the story as in a best friend, love interest, sidekick (such as Robin in the Batman series), or antagonist (such as the villain). They are sometimes but not necessarily character roles. In earlier times, these could often be ethnic stereotypes. A supporting actor should usually not upstage the starring or main actor or actress. The title of the role is usually specific to the performance; that is, a person may be a supporting actor in one film and the lead in another.
In television, the term day player is used to refer to most performers with supporting speaking roles hired on a daily basis without long-term contracts.

Jared Leto
Jared Joseph Leto (/lɛtoʊ/) (born December 26, 1971) is an American actor, singer, songwriter, and director. After starting his career with television appearances in the early 1990s, Leto achieved recognition for his role as Jordan Catalano on the television series My So-Called Life (1994). He made his film debut in How to Make an American Quilt (1995) and received critical praise for his performance in Prefontaine (1997). Leto played supporting roles in The Thin Red Line (1998), Fight Club (1999) and American Psycho (2000), as well as the lead role in Urban Legend (1998), and earned critical acclaim after portraying heroin addict Harry Goldfarb in Requiem for a Dream (2000). He later began focusing increasingly on his music career, returning to acting with Panic Room (2002), Alexander (2004), Lord of War (2005), Lonely Hearts (2006), Chapter 27 (2007), and Mr. Nobody (2009). He made his directorial debut in 2012 with the documentary film Artifact.
Leto's performance as a transgender woman in Dallas Buyers Club (2013) earned him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, among numerous other accolades. Leto is considered to be a method actor, known for his constant devotion to and research of his roles. He often remains completely in character for the duration of the shooting schedules of his films, even to the point of adversely affecting his health. He is also known to be selective about his film roles.

Christian Bale
Christian Charles Philip Bale (born 30 January 1974) is an English actor. He has starred in both blockbuster films and smaller projects from independent producers and art houses.
Bale first caught the public eye at the age of 13, when he was cast in the starring role of Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun (1987). Based on the original story by J. G. Ballard, Bale played an English boy who is separated from his parents and subsequently finds himself lost in a Japanese internment camp during World War II. In 2000, he garnered critical acclaim for his portrayal of serial killer Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. He is known for going to great lengths to portray characters in films, notably for the psychological thriller The Machinist (2004), where he lost 63 pounds (28.5 kg) to play the role of Trevor Reznik.
Bale went on to receive greater commercial recognition and acclaim for his performance as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). His portrayal of Dicky Eklund in the David O. Russell-directed biographical film The Fighter (2010), earned him widespread acclaim and a number of awards, including the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He has since gained further critical acclaim, as well as subsequent Academy Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and Golden Globe nominations for his roles in Russell's American Hustle and Adam McKay's The Big Short.

Mark Rylance
David Mark Rylance Waters (born 18 January 1960), known professionally as Mark Rylance, is an English actor, theatre director and playwright. He was the first artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe in London, from 1995 to 2005. His film appearances include Prospero's Books (1991), Angels and Insects (1995), Institute Benjamenta (1996), and Intimacy (2001). For his portrayal of Rudolf Abel in Bridge of Spies (2015), he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and won the BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Rylance made his professional debut at the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow in 1980. He went on to win the Olivier Award for Best Actor for Much Ado About Nothing in 1994, Jerusalem in 2010, the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for Boeing Boeing in 2008 and Jerusalem in 2011. In 2014, he won a third Tony Award for Twelfth Night. On television, he won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor for his role as David Kelly in the 2005 Channel 4 drama The Government Inspector and was nominated for Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards for playing Thomas Cromwell in the 2015 BBC Two miniseries Wolf Hall.

Hollywood’s biggest night in film has officially commenced and supporting or lead acting, we’re here to celebrate ALL the 2016 Oscar noms, and right now we’re shining the spotlight on this year’s best supporting actor.
So maybe you didn’t see this coming, or maybe you did, but regardless, tonight is Mark Rylance’s night to shine, this time off screen, after being awarded his very first Oscar.
Beating out fellow nominees Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Mark Ruffalo and this year’s presumed supporting actor frontrunner, Sylvester Stallone, Mark Rylance was recognized for his supporting role in Bridge of Spies, which also marks his very first Oscar nomination AND win.
In his acceptance speech, Mark gave many thanks to the film’s director and all-around LEGEND, Steven Spielberg, for having the privilege of working with such a talented creator. Take a look:
He also goes on to praise his costar Tom Hanks, saying QUOTE, “Steven leads with such love that he is surrounded by masters in every craft, not the least Mr. Tom Hanks.” He credited Tom for helping him throughout the duration of the film, and his gratitude for his costar is clearly evident in the remainder of his speech.

Jagapati Babu was born on 12 February 1961, to veteran producer-director V. B. Rajendra Prasad. He was brought up in chennai before making a mark in Tollywood.
Career[edit]
Jagapati Babu made his debut in Telugu with the movie Simha Swapnam(1989) which was produced by his father and directed by V. Madhusudhan Rao.[6] His first blockbuster film is Peddarikam released in 1992. He had his breakthrough in the form of Gaayam directed by Ram Gopal Varma in the year 1993. In 1994, with the super hit film Subha Lagnam, he reaches family audience and also established his star status. He won the Nandi Award for Best Actor in 1996 for his role in the movie Maavichiguru directed by S V Krishna Reddy.

1997 saw runway hit films like Subhakankshalu & Pelli Pandiri. In 1998, he won the Nandi Award for Best Supporting Actor for the film Antahpuram. In 2000, he won the Nandi Best Actor Award for his performance in the thriller Manoharam. In 2003-05, he did runway hit films like Kabbadi Kabbadi,Athade Oka Sainyam, Pedababu and Anukokunda Oka Roju. In 2006 he appeared in Samanyadu and Pellaina Kottalo. He received the Nandi Best Supporting Actor Award for the second time in the year 2007 for his role in the movie Lakshyam & he won Filmfare also.
His first Tamil was Madrasi, and in 2011, he appeared as the antagonist in Tamil film Thaandavam. Subsequently, he played the lead role in Jai Bolo Telangana, which won five Nandi Awards. In 2012, he debuted in the Kannada film Bachchan as a cop, which featured Sudeep in the lead role. In 2013, Jagapati Babu returned to the Tamil film industry with Puthagam and will next be seen in Rudhiram. Jagapati Babu is now doing a Malayalam film Pulimurugan with National Award winner Mohanlal.[7] His next movie was Legend, where he played the antagonist against Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Jagapati Babu About this sound pronunciation (help·info) (born Veeramachaneni Jagapati Rao Chowdary) is an Indian film actor known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema, few Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films.[1] In a career spanning 25 years, Jagapati Babu has starred in over 120 feature films, and has received 2 Filmfare Awards and 7 state Nandi Awards.[2]
He received the Kala Bhushana Award, for his contribution to cinema, by TSR Lalitha kala Parishat.[3] He has worked with noted directors like K. Raghavendra Rao, A. M. Rathnam, Ram Gopal Varma, Krishna Vamsi, S.V. Krishna Reddy, E. V. V. Satyanarayana, Guna Sekhar, Radha Mohan, Chandra Sekhar Yeleti, M. Raja, and J. D. Chakravarthy.
