Douglas Potts

Douglas "Doug" Potts is a fictional character in the British ITV soap opera Emmerdale. He is played by Duncan Preston. In July 2010, Preston announced that he was taking a break from the show, initially temporarily for several months to allow him to do some theatre work. However, it was later announced by Executive Producer, Steve November, that a return for the character of Doug wasn't definite. November stated that the door would remain open for Preston to come back to the show but that it was in the actor's hands if and when he decides to discuss a return. On 30 July 2014, it was announced that Preston has reprised the role and Doug is returning to the show as a regular character from September.

Creation and Casting

In October 2006, it was announced that Laurel Thomas's father, Douglas Potts, would be cast in the show. It was then later reaveled that actor Duncan Preston had been given the role. He started filming in February 2007 and Douglas Potts arrived in the village on 30 April 2007.

Trisha Paytas

Trisha Kay Paytas (born May 8, 1988) is an American actress, entertainer, model, author and YouTube personality. In 2006, Paytas began her YouTube channel "blndsundoll4mj". She had made her debut television appearance as a correspondent in Greg Behrendt's talk show The Greg Behrendt Show. She had appeared on the show until it was cancelled in 2007. Paytas had began having trouble finding acting roles around this time so she had begun doing stripping and extra work to support herself. Paytas had been appearing as an extra, modeling and appearing in foreign commercials during her early years living in Los Angeles but had stopped once her YouTube channel had began receiving more attention and subscribers. She currently uploads videos every day to her YouTube channel, along with hosting a podcast called DishWithTrish, and releases music. She released the EPs Fat Chicks, Superficial Bitch, and Under The Covers in 2015.

Life and career

1988–05: Early life

Paytas was born on May 8, 1988, in Riverside, California to parents Lenna and Frank Paytas. After moving to Illinois she attended Freeport High School (Illinois).

Best boy

In a film crew there are two kinds of best boy: best boy electric and best boy grip. They are assistants to their department heads, the gaffer and the key grip, respectively. In short, the best boy acts as the foreman for their department. A female who performs the duties of a best boy may be called best girl.

Job responsibilities

Best boys are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the lighting or grip department. Their many responsibilities include the hiring, scheduling, and management of crew; the renting, ordering, inventory, and returning of equipment; workplace safety and maintaining discipline within their department; completing timecards and other paperwork; stocking of expendables; loading and unloading production trucks; planning and implementing the lighting or rigging of locations and/or sound stages; coordinating with rigging crews and additional photography units (if applicable); handling relations with the other production departments; overseeing the application of union rules (where relevant); and serving as the day-to-day representative of the department with the unit production manager and coordinator of their department.

Music video

A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.
