Here's a review/demo of an Eb Tenor Horn. You might know it as an Alto Horn if you're not a follower of the British style brass band.
The horn in this video is a Yamaha YAH-201s. The piece I demo is an Air Varie on 'The Old Home Down On The Farm' by Fred Harlow.
Please excuse the fluffyness of some of the tonguing. I haven't spent much time with this particular instrument and hadn't got my lip into my usual standard of crispness.

This was my solo at the Scottish Borders Slow Melody Competition for brass. I made a couple of mistakes due to nerves but placed 3rd. I'm playing Tenor Horn (also known as an Alto Horn) in E♭ and the piece is Concerto D'Aranjuez, originally played as a guitar ensemble but there were four people playing this piece at the comp! This is at 14 years old.
Please don't post nasty comments because I know this wasn't played perfectly!
On the other hand, if you have something nice to say or some constructive criticism (without being nasty!) then please post it in the comments as well as liking and subscribing... ♥

Alto horn
The alto horn (US English; tenor horn in British English, Althorn in Germany; occasionally referred to as E♭ horn) is a brass instrument pitched in E♭. It has a predominantly conical bore (most tube extents gradually widening), and normally uses a deep, cornet-like mouthpiece.
It is most commonly used in marching bands, brass bands and similar ensembles, whereas the French horn tends to take the corresponding parts in symphonic groupings and classical brass ensembles.
Description
The alto horn is a valved brass instrument (in E flat) which has a predominantly conical bore like the euphonium and flugelhorn. It uses a deep funnel- or cup-shaped mouthpiece. The alto horn's conical bore and deep mouthpiece produce a mellow, rounded tone which is often used as a middle voice, supporting the melodies of the trumpets, cornets or flugelhorns, and filling the gap above the lower tenor and bass instruments (the trombone, baritone horn, euphonium and tuba). Its valves are typically, though not exclusively, piston valves.

Alto
The musical term alto, meaning "high" in Italian (Latin: altus), refers to the second highest part of a contrapuntal musical texture and is also applied to its associated vocal range, especially in choral music. More rarely it describes the highest male solo voice type (usually designated countertenor), and it is also the root word of contralto, the lowest standard female voice type. When designating instruments, "alto" likewise can refer either to the corresponding vocal range (alto flute and alto trombone) or to musical role (alto recorder and alto clarinet).
Etymology
In choral music for mixed voices, "alto" describes the lowest part commonly sung by women. The explanation for the anomaly of this name is to be found not in the use of adult falsettists in choirs of men and boys but further back in innovations in composition during the mid-15th century. Before this time it was usual to write a melodic cantus or superius against a tenor (from Latin tenere, to hold) or 'held' part, to which might be added a contratenor, which was in counterpoint with (in other words, against = contra) the tenor. The composers of Ockeghem's generation wrote two contratenor parts and designated them as contratenor altus and contratenor bassus; they were respectively higher and lower than the tenor part. From these derive both the modern terms "alto" (and contralto) and "bass".

This was my solo at the Scottish Borders Slow Melody Competition for brass. I made a couple of mistakes due to nerves but placed 3rd. I'm playing Tenor Horn (also known as an Alto Horn) in E♭ and the piece is Concerto D'Aranjuez, originally played as a guitar ensemble but there were four people playing this piece at the comp! This is at 14 years old.
Please don't post nasty comments because I know this wasn't played perfectly!

The album was issued shortly after the commercially and critically successful "Eat 'Em And Smile" World Tour of 1986-1987. "Skyscraper" hit #6 on the Billboard Top 200 U.S. album chart during February 1988, en route to selling two million copies in the U.S. alone. The album features one of Roth's most popular, international hit singles, "Just Like Paradise", which reached #6 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Additionally, it features the acoustic ballad "Damn Good", which reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Rock chart.
Although Roth's 1988-1989 "Skyscraper" World Tour was successful, many fans and critics who had felt disappointed by Van Halen's post-Roth, keyboard-heavy sound expressed similar dissatisfaction with Skyscraper. Guitarist Steve Vai (who co-produced Skyscraper, and wrote a majority of its songs,) and bassist Billy Sheehan, who formed the core of David Lee Roth's solo band, left the group over various controversies regarding "Skyscraper".

Após dois discos demo (um ao vivo e outro em estúdio), a banda lançou seu primeiro disco no começo de 2006, contando com a presença de mais de 10 mil pessoas na sua festa de lançamento na capital paulista. O disco conta com 12 faixas de autoria própria, sendo 7 delas reedições das já lançadas no demo de estréia da banda, em 2004. O
disco conta ainda com uma 13ª canção instrumental que se segue após a última faixa, canção a qual contou com uma belíssima intervenção da Oração atribuída a São Francisco de Assis, como música incidental.
O disco foi produzido por Rodrigo Piccolo e Rodrigo Loli no Estúdio Tonelada em São Paulo, local onde foram também feitas todas as gravações. A forma clássica com que foram feitas as canções e as gravações, todas feitas em rolo de duas polegadas, podem ser sentidas ao longo do disco, tanto em poesia e revolução como em peso musical.
