The Jack Russell terrier is a small terrier that has its origins in fox hunting; it is principally white-bodied and smooth, rough or broken-coated. It is commonly confused with the Parson Russell terrier (see the American Kennel Club) and the Russell terrier, which is a shorter-legged, stockier variety. (Within the Fédération Cynologique Internationale the "Russell terrier" is also known as "Jack Russell terrier.") The term "Jack Russell" is commonly misapplied to other small white terriers.
The Jack Russell is a broad type, with a size range of 10--15 inches (25--38 cm). The Parson Russell is limited only to a middle range with a standard size of 12--14 inches (30--36 cm), while the Russell terrier is smaller at 8--12 inches (20--30 cm). Each breed has different physical proportions according to the standards of their breed clubs.
The Jack Russell is an energetic breed that relies on a high level of exercise and stimulation and is relatively free from serious health complaints. Originating from dogs bred and used by Reverend John Russell in the early 19th century, it has similar origins to the modern Fox terrier. It has gone through several changes over the years corresponding to different use and breed standards set by kennel clubs. Recognition by kennel clubs for the Jack Russell breed has been opposed by the breed's parent societies -- which resulted in the breeding and recognition of the Parson Russell terrier. Jack Russells have appeared many times in film, television and print with several historical dogs of note.

THIS diving dog scores a perfect "10" as she launches herself off a clifftop into the clear blue waters of St Peter's Pool in Malta. The Jack Russell Terrier, named Titti, even performs SYNCHRONISED dives with her loving owner, 49-year-old Carmelo Abela. Fans of the intrepid pooch have flocked to Marsaxlokk, a fishing village in south east Malta, after footage of the duo's exploits surfaced online.

Volunteering at Cheetah Experience, watched an entertaining battle between Kinji, an eight month Cheetah Cub and Chloe, a low tolerance female Jack Russell Terrier. It's non aggressive, at least from Kinji's standpoint, he just wants to play and teases Chloe, but Chloe takes it more serious, even pinching his lips many times. This goes on every week.
Kinji is one of the most adorable Cheetahs cubs I've had the pleasure to encounter and interact with. He does bite WAY to hard at times but I love his attitude. He tries and succeeds in making friends with ALL the animals within his reach. He's befriended other larger Cheetah cubs, baby Cheetah cubs, Anatolian Sheppard dog, several adult Cheetahs, meerkats, and even a leopard. It's just Chloe and another smaller dog he just can't seem to win over. So he just teases them. He's fast enough to escape their wrath... most of the time.
I have another fascinating video of Kinji coming later. He is actually very bright and playful. There is a toy box outside where all the toys are stored. A large wooden box. Kinji knows the sound of the lid closing and will come running to pick out one of his toys from the box... himself! He clambers inside and scoops out a different toy each time. The only problem is he won't put them back. We have too. I captured the event and recorded it several times to show you. It's really cute.
Kinji is an adorable Cheetah cub but surprisingly, he does not purr much. I only heard him purr a few times in the weeks I spent there. The Meerkats, food, and occasionally toys make him purr. At the end of this video, you can here his nearly inaudible purr. I'm laying down with him with one of his toys he picked out from the cat toy box and he purrs.

Plot: During a commemoration for Japanese soldiers fighting in the US Army during World War II, Mr. Miyagi meets the widow of his commanding officer. Volunteering at Cheetah Experience, watched an entertaining battle between Kinji, an eight month Cheetah Cub and Chloe, a low tolerance female Jack Russell Terrier. It's non aggressive, at least from Kinji's standpoint, he just wants to play and teases Chloe, but Chloe takes it more serious, even pinching his lips many times. This goes on every week.
Kinji is one of the most adorable Cheetahs cubs I've had the pleasure to encounter and interact with. He does bite WAY to hard at times but I love his attitude. He tries and succeeds in making friends with ALL the animals within his reach. He's befriended other larger Cheetah cubs, baby Cheetah cubs, Anatolian Sheppard dog, several adult Cheetahs, meerkats, and even a leopard. It's just Chloe and another smaller dog he just can't seem to win over. So he just teases them. He's fast enough to escape their wrath... most of the time.
I have another fascinating video of Kinji coming later. He is actually very bright and playful. There is a toy box outside where all the toys are stored. A large wooden box. Kinji knows the sound of the lid closing and will come running to pick out one of his toys from the box... himself! He clambers inside and scoops out a different toy each time. The only problem is he won't put them back. We have too. I captured the event and recorded it several times to show you. It's really cute.
Kinji is an adorable Cheetah cub but surprisingly, he does not purr much. I only heard him purr a few times in the weeks I spent there. The Meerkats, food, and occasionally toys make him purr. At the end of this video, you can here his nearly inaudible purr. I'm laying down with him with one of his toys he picked out from the cat toy box and he purrs.

After 60 years gone missing, the “Joan Anderson Letter,” a manuscript written by Beat icon Neal Cassady to his buddy Jack Kerouac, is on display in San Francisco.
