The Usual Suspects is a 1995 American neo-noirmystery crime thriller film directed by Bryan Singer and written by Christopher McQuarrie. It stars Stephen Baldwin, Gabriel Byrne, Benicio del Toro, Kevin Pollak, Chazz Palminteri, Pete Postlethwaite and Kevin Spacey.
The film follows the interrogation of Roger "Verbal" Kint, a small-time con man who is one of only two survivors of a massacre and fire on a ship docked at the Port of Los Angeles. He tells an interrogator a convoluted story about events that led him and his partners in crime to the boat, and about a mysterious mob boss known as Keyser Söze who commissioned their work. Using flashback and narration, Kint's story becomes increasingly complex.
The film, shot on a $6 million budget, began as a title taken from a column in Spy magazine called The Usual Suspects, after one of Claude Rains' most memorable lines in the classic film Casablanca. Singer thought it would make a good title for a film, the poster for which he and McQuarrie had developed as the first visual idea.

10 Movie Details You Definitely Missed
Near the end of The Usual Suspects, Kevin Spacey, in his Oscar-winning performance as crippled con man Roger "Verbal" Kint, says, "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." This may be the key line in this story; the farther along the movie goes, the more one realizes that not everything is quite what it seems, and what began as a conventional whodunit turns into something quite different. A massive explosion rips through a ship in a San Pedro, CA, harbor, leaving 27 men dead, the lone survivor horribly burned, and 91 million dollars' worth of cocaine, believed to be on board, mysteriously missing. Police detective Dave Kujan (Chazz Palminteri) soon brings in the only witness and key suspect, "Verbal" Kint. Kint's nickname stems from his inability ...
Who is KEYSER SOZE? a brilliant movie that will stay for another 100 years for sure. Following a truck hijack in New York, five conmen are arrested and brought together for questioning. As none of them is guilty, they plan a revenge operation against the police. The operation goes well, but then the influence of a legendary mastermind criminal called Keyser Söze is felt. It becomes clear that each one of them has wronged Söze at some point and must pay back now. The payback job leaves 27 men dead in a boat explosion, but the real question arises now: Who actually is Keyser Söze? Released on 1995 Starring: Kevin Spacey, Gabriel Byrne, Stephen Baldwin, Kevin Pollak, Pete Postlethwaite, Benicio Del Toro, Chazz Palminteri
Scene from "The Usual Suspects". Info from the masses: "The cop's reaction to Benicio Del Toro during the line-up ("In English please") was unscripted and unrehearsed, as was Del Toro's rather strong reaction. The cop, incidentally, is played by screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie." -soulhunter91 "This scene was not supposed to be in the film but because it was so funny they put it in.You can see that ad-lib takes over during the filming." -andytaggart "according to the interviews on the dvd they kept laughing because benicio del toro kept farting.." -yamba Thanks guys MGM doesn't think this video is fair use so everyone go ahead and lift a middle finger in their general direction.
