Stretford (pop. 37,500) is a town in Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. Lying on flat ground between the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal, it is 3.8 miles (6.1 km) to the southwest of Manchester city centre, 3.0 miles (4.8 km) south-southwest of Salford and 4.2 miles (6.8 km) northeast of Altrincham. Stretford is contiguous with the suburb of Chorlton-cum-Hardy to the east, and the towns of Urmston to the west, Salford to the north, and Sale to the south. The Bridgewater Canal bisects the town.
Historically in Lancashire, during much of the 19th century Stretford was an agricultural village, with its own market, known locally as Porkhampton, a reference to the large number of pigs produced for the nearby Manchester market. It was also an extensive market gardening area, producing more than 500 long tons (508 t) of vegetables each week for sale in Manchester by 1845. The arrival of the Manchester Ship Canal in 1894, and the subsequent development of the Trafford Park industrial estate in the north of the town, accelerated the industrialisation that had begun in the late 19th century. By 2001 less than one per cent of Stretford's population was employed in agriculture.

Teenage school pupils from across the North West showed off their talent for innovation and design when they took part in the recent Make It in Aerospace Grand Final sponsored by Rolls-Royce in Barnoldswick. This free event was the culmination of the Manufacturing Institute's regional Make It in Aerospace competition for schools, aimed at attracting more young people in the aerospace and manufacturing industries and supported by the Northwest Aerospace Alliance's Take Off in Aerospace campaign.
My video is a general and brief is of Manchester and especially Salford as three of my locations are situated there and the other pretty much within the same borough. It goes to show how Manchester, Salford has developed, the first location Old Trafford Football stadium has been there for many a years an iconic stadium visited many by people from all of the world. Whether or not you are a fan of "MUFC" it is a major public attraction. However its location is in slight dispute as it is on the border of Stretford and Salford. Nevertheless my 2nd location is round the corner literally, "The Imperial War Museum" and also right next to it is the much-accumulated "Media city". My other location "The Trafford centre" is on the same route to my previous 3 locations as it is a mere 3-5 minutes aw...

Uploaded by request, this is a complete anticlockwise lap of the M60 motorway around Manchester in real-time, filmed on a sunny Sunday afternoon in November 2011. The video begins and ends on the south side of Manchester near Cheadle. The M60 was constructed in stages. The first section to open was the Stretford and Eccles bypass which was originally numbered M62, later renumbered to M63. This section opened to traffic in October 1960 and was one of the first motorways to open in the UK. The next major milestone was the completion of the M62 to the North and West of Manchester, opening in 1971. By 1975, the M63 had been extended to Cheadle, and the M66 had been constructed down to Heaton Park. In 1982, Stockport was bypassed, and in 1989, a portion of the M66 was constructed, joining Sto...
Gameplay footage from Elite Dangerous on PC from Frontier Games, brought to you by DVDfeverGames On the basis of it, my trip to Yaping Enterprise might not look the most thrilling of videos, but I LOVE the music! It's like there's an orchestra in my cockpit! Oh, and ignore my incredibly appalling landing :)
