Could it be over already?

Are Mariah Carey and James Packer over?
Rumours are circulating that Mariah Carey and James Packer have called it quits.
However, it must be noted that Packer has not been shy about spending some of his vast fortune on the singer, with a $10 million diamond engagement ring along with a collection of other jewels bestowed on the mother-of-two since they first went public with their relationship in April last year.
The magazine report relies on unnamed sources for the story, while Packer's office is yet to respond to requests for comment on the article.
In March, PS revealed the couple's much hyped wedding had been "delayed indefinitely", while Sydney associates of Packer had questioned if it would ever take place.
But more recently rumours the pair had split have been building momentum, with Packer suddenly cancelling a trip to Sydney to attend his sister Gretel's 50th birthday party in late August, citing business commitments in Israel, where he has nurtured strong relationships with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
However, claims in the Woman's Day article suggesting Packer did not attend the party because his fiancée had refused to make the trip, were "not correct" according to a source close the billionaire on Thursday.
In early August, Packer confirmed to PS that the relationship remained strong, praising his fiancée's career and defending her from the public ridicule her extremely candid social media feeds regularly generate.
Packer has been notably absent from Carey's Instagram images for the past four weeks and was not at the Halloween party the signer threw in Los Angeles last week, which was attended by Carey's ex-husband Nick Cannon, the father of her twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
According to Woman's Day, Carey "created tension" within the Packer family after "refusing" to attend Gretel Packer's milestone birthday, while "matriarch Ros Packer struggled to connect with the singer".
James Packer's private jet arrived in Melbourne overnight while Carey has also cancelled a series of South American performances.
Devastated my shows in Chile, Argentina & Brazil had to be cancelled. My fans deserve better than how some of these promoters treated them. https://t.co/zuEXQL12Ek
