Larry Bock is an entrepreneur who has aided in starting or financing 40 early stage growth companies, with a combined market value of more than $30 billion.
He received a degree in biochemistry and has an MBA. After school, he worked for Genentech. Bock is a donor, co-founder, and the executive director of USA Science and Engineering Festival.
Bock was highlighted as a "keystone species" in the ecosystem of Silicon Valley in the book The Rainforest. A keystone species, in the innovation context, is someone who connects people who would benefit from working together, but who would not work together under normal circumstances because of trust, distance, and/or cultural barriers.
Bock was previously a CEO of Nanosys, where he helped to raise $55 million in funding. Bock was also a special limited partner with Lux Capital.

Miraculous Ladybug or Miraculous, is a Korean-French CGI action/adventure animated series, co-produced by Zagtoon, Method Animation, Toei Animation, and SAMG Animation, partnering with companies worldwide, including SK Broadband in South Korea and De Agostini in Italy. It is distributed by PGS Entertainment, with Bandai serving as the chief partner for toy production.
The series first premiered in South Korea on 1 September 2015 on EBS under the title Lady Bug (Hangul: 레이디 버그). In France, it debuted on 19 October on TF1. In the United States, the series debuted on Nickelodeon on 6 December as Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. The Korean re-debut on Disney Channel was on 7 December.
Set in modern-day Paris, the series focuses on teenage junior high school student Marinette Dupain-Cheng and her classmate and crush Adrien Agreste. When evil arises, Marinette becomes her secret superhero persona Ladybug, while Adrien becomes his secret superhero persona Cat Noir. Oblivious to each other's true identities, the two work together to protect Paris from the mysterious villain Hawk Moth, who covets and attempts to steal their powers by using his akuma, butterflies made of black energy, to influence and transform normal humans into supervillains.
Bock is a strong lager of German origin. Several substyles exist, including maibock (helles bock, heller bock), a paler, more hopped version generally made for consumption at spring festivals; doppelbock (double bock), a stronger and maltier version; and eisbock, a much stronger version made by partially freezing the beer and removing the ice that forms.
Originally a dark beer, a modern bock can range from light copper to brown in colour. The style is very popular, with many examples brewed internationally.
The style known now as bock was a dark, malty, lightly hopped ale first brewed in the 14th century by German brewers in the Hanseatic town of Einbeck. The style from Einbeck was later adopted by Munich brewers in the 17th century and adapted to the new lager style of brewing. Due to their Bavarian accent, citizens of Munich pronounced "Einbeck" as "ein Bock" ("a billy goat"), and thus the beer became known as "bock". To this day, as a visual pun, a goat often appears on bock labels.
USA Science & Engineering Festival is a science festival held in Washington, D.C., that is the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines in the United States. It was founded by serial entrepreneur Larry Bock and Ray O. Johnson, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the Lockheed Martin Corporation. Due to the festival sponsors, including the founding and presenting host Lockheed Martin, the festival is free and open to the public.
The inaugural event was held from October 10, 2010, through October 24, 2010, the second festival was April 27–29, 2012 (attended by a quarter million visitors) and the third festival attracted over 325,000 visitors on April 24–27, 2014. The 3rd festival featured the first ever X-STEM Symposium on April 24, 2014, presented by Northrop Grumman Foundation and MedImmune, with interactive presentations and workshops by an exclusive group of visionaries who aim to empower and inspire kids about STEM careers. The 4th festival will be held on April 16-17, 2016, and the next X-STEM Symposium will be held as a standalone event on April 28, 2015 and will feature presentations and workshops by leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, including Dean Kamen, leader of the STEM Outreach Movement, engineer and entrepreneur Dr. Irwin M. Jacobs, and producer and cinematographer Louie Schwartzberg.

Chat Noir (French for "Black Cat") is a cabaret and revue theatre in Oslo, Norway. It was established in 1912 by Bokken Lasson. The current director is Tom Sterri.
Chat Noir was established as a cabaret in 1912 by singer Bokken Lasson and her later husband, writer Vilhelm Dybwad, modelled after the Paris cabaret Le Chat Noir from the 19th century.
During a visit to Paris in the early 1890s Bokken Lasson had found the inspiration of her life. She experienced the literary cabarets of the time, and performers such as Yvette Guilbert. The next years she toured European cities, wearing a self-composed costume, singing gypsy songs and playing lute, performing on the street, at restaurants, cabarets and occasionally in musical comedies.
Chat Noir opened 1 March 1912 in the Tivoli building. Bokken Lasson managed the cabaret from 1912 to 1917.
Chat Noir became a cultural meeting place, with the artists Christian and Oda Krohg (Bokken's sister) as leading figures. Their son Per Krohg painted the first decorations. To begin with Chat Noir was a literary cabaret. Herman Wildenvey and Arnulf Øverland contributed with poetry, Vilhelm Dybwad composed melodies, and Bokken Lasson was singing. In 1913 the first revue, called 1913, was played at Chat Noir. In 1916 Lalla Christensen was introduced, singing children's songs. Lalla – later married Carlsen – was engaged at Chat Noir until 1947, and came to be one of the most popular revue artists in Norway.

Engineering.com interviews Larry Bock at the 2010 USA Science and Engineering Festival.
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart to announce that our Festival founder, Lawrence Bock, died at his home on July 6, 2016. Larry waged a monumental battle with pancreatic cancer, an effort only a man with his commitment to science and medicine could undertake. His dedication to family, friends and his personal projects continued with his active support to the end. Larry will be remembered as a brilliant entrepreneur, passionate philanthropist, and dedicated family man. His passing is a profound loss but his legacy will live on for many years through the continuation of the Festival and many other of his start-up projects. We extend our deepest condolences to his beloved family and are honored to be able to continue the important work he started. He was one of a kind. Please read...

Everything you always wanted to know about spirituality... can't be found here. But it's a useful discussion starter. Who wants to talk Kabbalah? All third party clips are used under Fair Use. No idea how I screwed that up. I apologize for the many, many terrible pronunciations of Hebrew words. Also the Hebrew spelling of "Samuel" is "שמואל" not "סמואל."
