It’s been 25 years since Apple released its first notebook. Tim Cook announced Thursday that the newest MacBook Pro would be a game-changer, but after the big reveal, we’re just not sure.

The new MacBook Pro will feature a "Touch Bar."

The new MacBook Pro is thinner and lighter than its predecessors ― and, as we predicted, probably not super good for the planet ― and it has a huge, double-size track pad for our fat fingers.

Its coolest new feature is also the one Apple seems to be betting your money on: “Touch Bar,” an OLED screen that will stand in place of function keys, will allow users to customize the touch bar based on the applications they’re using. Oh, and it has full Emoji capabilities.

Other big highlights include:

  • Three USB-C ports.

  • The 15-inch will weigh just 4 pounds.

  • A new (and bigger) trackpad.

  • Up to 10 hours of battery.

  • Brighter screens.

  • Louder speakers.

  • A “Touch ID” that will allow users to log in to their Mac with their fingerprint.

It certainly won’t be cheap. The new 15-inch MacBook Pro will start at $2,399, with the 13-inch MacBook Pro starting at a slightly more reasonable $1,799. A less capable 13-inch MacBook Pro (which won’t be equipped with a Touch Bar) will be available for $1,499.
