The Wars of the Roses were a series of dynastic wars for the throne of England. They were fought between supporters of two rival branches of the royal House of Plantagenet, the Houses of Lancaster and York. They were fought in several sporadic episodes between 1455 and 1487, although there was related fighting before and after this period. The conflict resulted from social and financial troubles that followed the Hundred Years' War, combined with the mental infirmity and weak rule of Henry VI, which revived interest in the alternative claim to the throne of Richard, Duke of York.
The final victory went to a claimant of the Lancastrian party, Henry Tudor, who defeated the last Yorkist king, Richard III, at the Battle of Bosworth Field. After assuming the throne as Henry VII, he married Elizabeth of York, the eldest daughter and heiress of Edward IV, thereby uniting the two claims. The House of Tudor ruled England and Wales until 1603.
The name Wars of the Roses refers to the heraldic badges associated with the two royal houses, the White Rose of York and the Red Rose of Lancaster. Wars of the Roses came into common use in the nineteenth century, after the publication in 1829 of Anne of Geierstein by Sir Walter Scott. Scott based the name on a scene in William Shakespeare's play Henry VI Part 1, set in the gardens of the Temple Church, where a number of noblemen and a lawyer pick red or white roses to show their loyalty to the Lancastrian or Yorkist faction respectively.
The Plantagenets is a 2014 television documentary series on the House of Plantagenet, which ruled England from 1154 to 1485. The series aired from 17 March to 31 March 2014 on BBC Two and was presented by historian Robert Bartlett.
Bartlett, a historian and professor, examines the history of the House of Plantagenet, England's longest-ruling dynasty. While the names and stories of the Tudors are well known in popular culture, less is known about the Plantagenets, says Bartlett, who describes them as a "fascinating but ferocious dynasty."

If you've struggled to move on following a relationship ending & definitely don't want to be with that person again (or can't be with that person again) this track is to neutralize feelings of love. Normal grieving the end of a relationship could take up to a year, so this process is for people who still haven't moved on and yet a year or more has passed and not moving on is affecting your life. It isn't for people who have just had a relationship breakup who are upset by this - that is normal,...

DANIEL Jones is one of Australia’s most successful songwriters, but also one of the most mysterious. He was the quiet half of Savage Garden, the member who hated touring so much it led to the demise of the chart-topping band after just two albums (which sold over 20 million copies). Lucratively and uncommonly, the pair own the rights to their own music, which they haven’t put on streaming sites, and have remastered their albums and released a new singles compilation. That has got Jones doing his first interview in many years, but he’s politely declined to send updated photos of himself, still happy to live off the radar. Do you find it funny that people think you’re a mystery man? People have a misconception about who I actually am. Because Darren was the extrovert at the start of Savage G...
