GHS may refer to:
The Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System, also known as the Harmonized System (HS) of tariff nomenclature is an internationally standardized system of names and numbers to classify traded products. It came into effect in 1988 and has since been developed and maintained by the World Customs Organization (WCO) (formerly the Customs Co-operation Council), an independent intergovernmental organization based in Brussels, Belgium, with over 200 member countries.
Under the HS Convention, the contracting parties are obliged to base their tariff schedules on the HS nomenclature, although parties set their own rates of duty. The HS is organized into 21 sections and 96 chapters, accompanied with general rules of interpretation and explanatory notes. First, the system assigns goods to sections, and then proceeds to assign these goods to their specific chapter, heading, and subheading], in that order, as necessary. The HS therefore assigns up to a total of 8 digits at the tariff-rate (legal) level. Two extra digits may also be assigned as statistical reporting numbers for a total of 10 digits to be listed on entries.
The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) is an internationally agreed-upon system, created by the United Nations beginning in 1992 and as of 2015 is not yet fully implemented in many countries. It was designed to replace the various classification and labelling standards used in different countries by using consistent criteria on a global level. It supersedes the relevant system of the European Union, which has implemented the United Nations' GHS into EU law as the CLP Regulation and United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) was developed beginning at the United NationsRio Conference in 1992, when the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), various governments and other stakeholders met at a United Nations conference. Before it was created and implemented, there were many different regulations on hazard classification in use in different countries. While those systems may have been similar in content and approach, they resulted in multiple standards, classifications and labels for the same hazard. Given the extent of international trade in chemicals and the potential impact on neighboring countries when controls are not implemented, countries determined that a worldwide approach was necessary.

Globally Harmonized System (GHS) Training Video -- GHS Intro & Changes to OSHA HazCom Standard You may show this video on Youtube to students, employees and co-workers in order to provide them with the required introduction to the GHS and to train them on the changes that are being made to the HazCom Standard. OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) is now aligned with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. It is a logical and comprehensive approach to: ◾Defining health, physical and environmental hazards of chemicals; ◾Creating classification processes that use available data on chemicals for comparison with the defined hazard criteria; a...
Explains the new GHS format for Safety Data Sheets (SDS's) adopted by OSHA when they revised their hazard communication standard in 2012. Employers must provide training on this particular topic to their workers by no later than December 1, 2013. http://ExcalVisual.com - Employers whose employees work with or around any hazardous chemical must train their employees according to the requirements of the OSHA Hazard Communications (HazCom) Rule (29 CFR 1910.1200). In 2012 the HazCom Rule was amended to bring it into harmonization with global hazard communication practices. This is called the Global Harmonization System (GHS). Excal Visual's GHS HazCom training includes 3 videos: one for each of the GHS phase-in periods. Preview the complete training and safety series at: http://www.excalvisual.com/products.pl?ProductID=63
OSHA's updated Hazardous Communication (HAZCOM) Program standards requires Employees to be trained on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) additions to their HAZCOM plans. In Washington State, the Department of Labor and Industries requires the training be provided by employers. This video is an overview of how GHS can be integrated into existing HAZCOM programs. Funding and Support for this project provided by the State of Washington, Department of Labor and Industries, Safety and Health Investment Projects.
All employers must train employees by December 1, 2013 on the new Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) pictograms. This video covers the 9 pictogram symbols and meanings. Funding and Support for this project was from the State of Washington, Department of Labor and Industries, Safety and Health Investment Projects Grant.
PAMCANI Alliance and PCA safety consultant Roger M. Paveza, Senior Vice President of Strategic Safety Consulting has produced this PowerPoint Presentation to train workers on OSHA's revised Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) which alligns with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). http://stop-painting.com/ghssecondarylabels.html The new Global Harmonization System (GHS) can present many challenges, especially when transferring a liquid from a parent container to a secondary container. The new Stop-Painting.com GHS Secondary Label is simple and easy to use. This label makes it easy to translate the NFPA and/or HMIS language into the GHS label. • Simply use the chemical's primary label and mark the blank secondary label accordingly. • Features a checkbox for each of the pictograms that represent each hazard. • When chemicals are transferred (or "migrated") from their primary container to a secondary container, then employees are required to properly label the secondary container. • Use a fine point sharpie marker to mark the labels with the appropriate safety infor...

Well, my name it is a number it's on a piece of plastic film
And I've been growin' funny flowers outside on my little window sill
Don't you know I'm a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just don't understand me at all
You know, my wife still respects me even though I really misuse her
I am having an affair with the Random computer
Don't you know I'm a 2,000 man
And my kids, they just don't understand me at all
Oh daddy, proud of your planet, oh mommy, proud of your sun
Oh daddy, proud of your planet, oh mommy, proud of your sun
Oh daddy, your brain's still flashin' like they did when you were young
Or did they come down crashin' seeing all the thing's you'd done
Spacin' out havin' fun
Oh daddy, proud of your planet, oh mommy, proud of your sun
