The Los Angeles Film Festival, also known as the LA Film Fest, is an annual film festival held in June in downtown Los Angeles, California. It showcases independent, international, feature, documentary and short films, as well as music videos. Since 2001 it is run by the organisation Film Independent, which also has been arranging the annual Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica since 1985.
The festival began as the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival (LAIFF) in 1995. The LAIFF ran for six years, until it was absorbed into Film Independent in 2001. At its height, the LAIFF attracted 19,000 attendees. Today, the Los Angeles Film Festival attracts more than 90,000.
With an attendance of more than 90,000 people, it screens more than 100 feature films. The event also includes world premieres of films such as Disney/Pixar's Brave, and a variety of panels, seminars, and free outdoor screenings.
The Festival features signature programs including the exclusive Filmmaker Retreat, hosted by a veteran film director. In 2010, the Filmmaker Retreat was hosted by Kathryn Bigelow. In 2011, it was hosted by George Lucas at his Skywalker Ranch, where it will return for 2012.
Richard Augustus Wagstaff "Dick" Clark Jr. (November 30, 1929 – April 18, 2012) was an American radio and television personality, as well as a cultural icon who remains best known for hosting American Bandstand from 1957 to 1987. He also hosted the game show Pyramid and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, which transmitted Times Square's New Year's Eve celebrations. Clark was also well known for his trademark sign-off, "For now, Dick Clark — so long!", accompanied with a military salute.
As host of American Bandstand, Clark introduced rock & roll to many Americans. The show gave many new music artists their first exposure to national audiences, including Ike and Tina Turner, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, Talking Heads and Simon & Garfunkel. Episodes he hosted were among the first where blacks and whites performed on the same stage and among the first where the live studio audience sat without racial segregation. Singer Paul Anka claimed that Bandstand was responsible for creating a "youth culture." Due to his perennial youthful appearance, Clark was often referred to as "America's oldest teenager".

'Promises, possessions, and the importance of friendship when a demon takes over the planet.' GoatPro Films presents 'LET 'EM IN', a post-apocalyptic dramedy short film. Harry and Sam made a promise to each other that if the world ever ended, they would go on a road trip. Why were Harry and Sam so sure they were going survive an apocalypse? Because they were naive enough to believe they would. Abaddon, the demon that caused the apocalypse, did so by possessing everyone on the planet. This scheme wasn’t birthed out of his evilness, in all actuality he was an okay guy, but he watched one too many horror films about ‘possessions’ where demons were painted in such an unglamorous light. That was it. He decided to give people what, apparently, they wanted. Starring Aiken Clark, Joseph D...
