When a region of departure is within the aggregated region of arrival the estimate excludes moves within the region of departure (and vice versa). For example, the estimate of moves from Sydney - Blacktown SA4 to Greater Sydney exclude moves within Sydney - Blacktown.

All Australian residents who have changed their place of usual residence from one ASGS region to another.

Geographic coverage

This dataset contains data for Statistical Areas Level 4, Greater Capital City Statistical Areas, and States and Territories according to the 2011 edition of the Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS2011). For more information on the ASGS2011 classification, see the link below:
