Hi guys today I will be sharing my version of yema tart its really easy to make and really delicious
for the dough
100 g of butter
200 g of plain flour
60 g icing sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp of salt
1 egg
For the Yema
1 can of condensed milk
1/4 cup of evaporated milk
3 eggyolks
1/2 tsp of lemon rind
2 tsp of cornflour or corn starch
1 1/2 tbsp of water
1 1/2 tbsp of butter
optional peanuts

In this video I will show you how to make Chinese egg tarts. Usually these are found in dim sum restaurants or Chinese bakeries. It has a flakey, buttery, puff pastry crust and a slightly sweet egg custard filling.
~~RECIPE~~
DOUGH:
*Butter dough:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 stick (which also equals 3/4 cup + 2 Tbsp) cold, unsalted butter
*Water dough:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 egg yolks (save the egg whites for the filling!)
- 1/4 cup cold water
FILLING:
*Simple syrup:
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
*Egg custard:
- 3 large eggs + reserved egg whites from earlier
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
OTHER INFORMATION:
*Puff pastry method: 3x4x4
*Oven temperature: 400°F for approx. 25-30 min (time will vary--cook until crust is light golden brown!)
*This recipe yields approx. 12-14 tarts
*Store the egg tarts in the refrigerator & best to eat while HOT! re-heat at 400°F for 5-7 minutes!
*Tart mold and cookie cutter is 3" diameter
*Individual tart molds were purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond for 0.79 each!

Tart
A tart is a baked dish consisting of a filling over a pastry base with an open top not covered with pastry. The pastry is usually shortcrust pastry; the filling may be sweet or savoury, though modern tarts are usually fruit-based, sometimes with custard. Tartlet refers to a miniature tart; an example would be egg tarts. Examples of tarts include jam tarts, which may be different colours depending on the flavour of the jam used to fill them, and the Bakewell tart.
The categories of 'tart', 'flan', 'quiche' and 'pie' overlap, with no sharp distinctions. The French word tarte can be translated to mean either pie or tart, as both are mainly the same with the exception of a pie usually covering the filling in pastry, while flans and tarts leave it open. Tarts are also typically free-standing with firm pastry, thick filling, and perpendicular sides while pies may have softer pastry, looser filling, and sloped sides, necessitating service from the pie plate. The Italian crostata, dating to at least the mid-15th century, has been described as a "rustic free-form version of an open fruit tart".

In this video I will show you how to make Chinese egg tarts. Usually these are found in dim sum restaurants or Chinese bakeries. It has a flakey, buttery, puff pastry crust and a slightly sweet egg custard filling. ~~RECIPE~~ DOUGH: *Butter dough: - 1 cup all-purpose flour - 1 3/4 stick (which also equals 3/4 cup + 2 Tbsp) cold, unsalted butter *Water dough: - 1 cup all-purpose flour - 2 egg yolks (save the egg whites for the filling!) - 1/4 cup cold water FILLING: *Simple syrup: - 1/3 cup sugar - 1/2 cup water *Egg custard: - 3 large eggs + reserved egg whites from earlier - 1 cup milk - 1 tsp vanilla extract OTHER INFORMATION: *Puff pastry method: 3x4x4 *Oven temperature: 400°F for approx. 25-30 min (time will vary--cook until crust is light golden brown!)...

In this video I will show you how to make Chinese egg tarts. Usually these are found in dim sum restaurants or Chinese bakeries. It has a flakey, buttery, puff pastry crust and a slightly sweet egg custard filling.
~~RECIPE~~
DOUGH:
*Butter dough:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 stick (which also equals 3/4 cup + 2 Tbsp) cold, unsalted butter
*Water dough:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 egg yolks (save the egg whites for the filling!)
- 1/4 cup cold water
FILLING:
*Simple syrup:
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
*Egg custard:
- 3 large eggs + reserved egg whites from earlier
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
OTHER INFORMATION:
*Puff pastry method: 3x4x4
*Oven temperature: 400°F for approx. 25-30 min (time will vary--cook until crust is light golden brown!)
*This recipe yields approx. 12-14 tarts
*Store the egg tarts in the refrigerator & best to eat while HOT! re-heat at 400°F for 5-7 minutes!
*Tart mold and cookie cutter is 3" diameter
*Individual tart molds were purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond for 0.79 each!

Pomegranate molasses does not taste like pomegranates. Nor does it taste like molasses. The flavor is sweet and tart like a good balsamic vinegar but without the acrid whang of vinegar. It's a little toasty; a little fruity; a little floral. It's syrupy without being cloying ... It's apple season. The stores are filled with colorful displays of crisp, juicy apples. Tart Granny Smith apples lightly coated with maple syrup make a perfect topping for sauteed veal cutlets. I created this dinner after tasting several types of maple syrup at this year's Fancy Food Show. The veal takes only 2 or 3 minutes to cook. It will continue to cook once removed from the skillet ...
