This is my so called "Salvation plexi" as it used to belong to the local salvation army close by. This is one of my most frequently requested amps for studio recordings. I very famous guitarist has used it on his last two recordings (unfortunately I can´t name him here as he endorse another amp company. This clip is the guitar straight into upper channel one only, which get kind of brown. However this amp has more tones. Lower chanel one great for a more smother sound and with the lolume a bit rolled off, ACDC ones. The Channel two is darker and perfect for strats. The amp starts to break up earlyer then most, with humbuckers between 1-2. After 3-4 you don´t get an lolume increase only gain response.
The clip is done with a 1974 Les Paul Custom 20 anniversary into stock Marshall plexi, stock T-top pickups, no boost pedal or attenuator were used. The miced speaker cabinet was in a nearby closet. An old sure SM57 into iRig pre and iPhone 4 was used for recording. No post sound editing. Sync is screwed since sound was recorded with one phone and video with another...
The amp is a Lead Model 1987 not the Bass model 1986 as I wrote somewhere here by mistake.The amp is an all original Scandinavian S-marked amp.

Salvation! (1987 film)
Salvation! (also known as Salvation!: Have You Said Your Prayers Today?) is a 1987 film by Beth B, starring Viggo Mortensen, Exene Cervenka and Stephen McHattie. The film is a parody of televangelism released right after the real-life Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart scandals.
The film was released on VHS, but not as yet on DVD.
The film tagline was "SEX. POWER. MONEY. All in the name of God."
Plot
McHattie plays Reverend Randall, a Staten Island-based televangelist who has been bilking his flock and secretly watches pornography while he is rehearsing his sermons in his stately home. Cervenka plays Rhonda Stample, a born again Christian. After Rhonda's non-believer husband, Jerome (Viggo Mortensen), loses his factory job, he and two cousins enlist Rhonda in a plot to entrap Rev. Randall in a sex scandal and blackmail him.
Soundtrack
The soundtrack album was released on Factory Benelux/Les Disques du Crépuscule (catalogue TWI-774) and Factory Australasia (catalogue FACT-182) in February 1988.

This is my so called "Salvation plexi" as it used to belong to the local salvation army close by. This is one of my most frequently requested amps for studio recordings. I very famous guitarist has used it on his last two recordings (unfortunately I can´t name him here as he endorse another amp company. This clip is the guitar straight into upper channel one only, which get kind of brown. However this amp has more tones. Lower chanel one great for a more smother sound and with the lolume a bit rolled off, ACDC ones. The Channel two is darker and perfect for strats. The amp starts to break up earlyer then most, with humbuckers between 1-2. After 3-4 you don´t get an lolume increase only gain response.
