Eduard Helly

Eduard Helly (June 1, 1884, Vienna – 1943, Chicago) was a mathematician after whom Helly's theorem, Helly families, Helly's selection theorem, Helly metric, and the Helly–Bray theorem were named.

Life

Helly earned his doctorate from the University of Vienna in 1907, with two advisors, Wilhelm Wirtinger and Franz Mertens. He then continued his studies for another year at the University of Göttingen; Richard Courant, also studying there at the same time, tells a story of Helly disrupting one of Courant's talks, which fortunately did not prevent David Hilbert from eventually hiring Courant as an assistant. After returning to Vienna, Helly worked as a tutor, Gymnasium teacher, and textbook editor until World War I, when he enlisted in the Austrian army. He was shot in 1915, and spent the rest of the war as a prisoner of the Russians. In one prison camp in Berezovka, Siberia, he organized a mathematical seminar in which Tibor Radó, then an engineer, began his interest in pure mathematics. While held in another camp at Nikolsk-Ussuriysk, also in Siberia, Helly wrote important contributions on functional analysis.

Helly Shah

Helly Shah is an Indian television actress. She began her acting career when she was in 8th grade, Her career began with STAR Plus's show Gulaal. Then she played the female lead in Life OK's TV show Alaxmi — Humari Super Bahu as Alaxmi. Later she played the role of Ami in Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi. She was last appeared in Sony Pal TV show Khushiyon Kii Gullak Aashi and is currently playing lead role in Swaragini.

Robocar Poli

Robocar Poli (Hangul: 로보카 폴리; RR: Ro-bo-ka Polli) is a South Korean animated children's television series created by RoiVisual. The series released its first episode on Educational Broadcasting System in 2011, and has aired for three seasons. Robocar Poli currently consists of 78 eleven-minute episodes.

While in production, this series was selected for the section of full-length animation at Global Animation Project 2009 hosted by Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), under the title of Piyo Piyo Friends.

In the latter half of 2011, the films were exported from South Korea to France. Internationally, the program currently airs on French and Taiwanese channels. It is also scheduled to air in Japan, on TV Tokyo.

On March 12, 2013, Korea Post issued commemorative stamps for the series. As the third installment of the "Korean-Made Characters Series Stamps", Robocar Poli was introduced, following the introduction of Pororo the Little Penguin and Pucca. Two million copies of the stamps were printed for sale (10 copies per set).

Helly Luv

Helan Abdulla (born November 16, 1988), better known by her stage name Helly Luv, is a Kurdish singer, dancer, choreographer, actress and model who was born in Urmia, West Azerbaijan, Iran. Her career began by uploading cover videos on social media websites like Myspace and YouTube. Helly Luv has since starred in movies, music videos and has released her own material. Gaining popularity from her 2013 single "Risk It All", Helly Luv has recently signed to G2 Music Group. In 2014, she appeared in her first theatrical feature film, Mardan.

Personal life

Helly Luv was born of Kurdish descent during the Persian Gulf War in the city of Urmia, Iran on November 16, 1988. Her family escaped the city of Dohuk in Iraqi Kurdistan by fleeing to Iran, where she was born, and suddenly to Turkey for safety, leaving them homeless and begging for money. Eventually Helly Luv and her family's application was approved to become citizens of Finland, allowing her and her family to be one of the first Kurdish immigrants to live there. She took an interest in singing in a neighborhood choir and then expanded her interest by playing the piano, and taking drama classes. She began performing in school demonstrating her singing and dancing abilities. But dancing became her primary focus and afforded her an opportunity to compete in European Dance Championships and soon signed a contract with Finland’s Nike Women.
