Le film de Michael Thelin, éprouvant et quelque peu jouissif, s’emploie admirablement à chercher les frontières de la folie de son personnage principal. En résulte un thriller particulièrement anxiogène.
On the evening of their 13th wedding anniversary, Dan and Joyce are waiting for the babysitter who is supposed to look after their children. Another girl comes to stand in for her. However, despite her angelic manner, Emelie proves to be dangerously perverse.
Drawing on a number of memorable works, the babysitter movie could over time become a sub-genre of the horror film, whose challenge is to build tension to a crescendo and reach the point when innocent children are in danger. This demanding and enjoyable film by Michael Thelin admirably establishes the full extent of the main character’s madness. The result is a particularly anxiety-ridden thriller.

Martha Marcy May Marlene is a 2011 American drama thriller film written and directed by Sean Durkin, and starring Elizabeth Olsen, John Hawkes, Sarah Paulson, and Hugh Dancy. The plot focuses on a young woman suffering from delusions and paranoia after returning to her family from an abusive cult in the Catskill Mountains. The film contains several references to the music of Jackson C. Frank.
Plot
Early one morning, Martha flees from an abusive cult in the Catskill Mountains led by an enigmatic leader, Patrick. She phones her sister Lucy, eventually asking for her help. Lucy picks up Martha at a nearby bus station and takes her to a lake house in Connecticut which Lucy shares with her husband, Ted. Martha tells Lucy only that she had been living with her boyfriend in the Catskills, leaving out all mention of the cult. During the following days, Martha continues to exhibit unusual behavior, with little regard for the commonly accepted societal boundaries of American culture.

Sean Durkin
Sean Durkin (born December 9, 1981) is an American film director, screenwriter and producer. He won the Dramatic Directing Award at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival for Martha Marcy May Marlene. His short film, Mary Last Seen, on the same theme as Martha, won the award for best short film at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival Directors' Fortnight. In 2013 Durkin directed the Channel 4 drama series Southcliffe starring Sean Harris and Rory Kinnear.
Early life
Durkin was born in Canada and moved to England soon thereafter; he was raised in North London and in Surrey until his family moved to Manhattan when he was 12. Durkin graduated from Kent School in Kent, Connecticut in 2000, then attended the film school at New York University, where he graduated in 2005 and delivered his thesis film in 2006. He moved to Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2008.
In an interview with Robert K. Elder for the book The Best Film You've Never Seen, Durkin said, “When I make a film, I think about things that scare me. My exploration of those things is to try and wrap my head around them and confront them.”

Elizabeth Olsen
Elizabeth Chase "Lizzie" Olsen (born February 16, 1989) is an American actress. She is known for her roles in the films Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Godzilla (2014), Silent House (2011), Liberal Arts (2012), and the critically acclaimed Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011), for which she was nominated for numerous awards. She is the younger sister of actresses and fashion designers Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen.
Early life
Olsen was born and raised in Sherman Oaks, California, the daughter of Jarnette "Jarnie" (née Jones; b. 1954), a personal manager, and David "Dave" Olsen, a real estate developer and mortgage banker. She is the younger sister of twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who became famous as TV and movie stars at an early age. Her oldest brother is named Trent Olsen, and she has two younger half siblings as well. In 1996, Olsen's parents were divorced. The Olsens have Norwegian ancestry on their father's side and English ancestry on their mother's side.
As a child, Olsen received ballet and singing lessons. She began acting at a very young age, with appearances in her sisters' films. Before the age of eleven, Olsen had small roles in How the West Was Fun and the straight-to-video series The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley. Having appeared in her sisters' videos, when she was in the fourth grade, Olsen began to go on auditions for other projects.

On the evening of their 13th wedding anniversary, Dan and Joyce are waiting for the babysitter who is supposed to look after their children. Another girl comes to stand in for her. However, despite her angelic manner, Emelie proves to be dangerously perverse.
Drawing on a number of memorable works, the babysitter movie could over time become a sub-genre of the horror film, whose challenge is to build tension to a crescendo and reach the point when innocent children are in danger. This demanding and enjoyable film by Michael Thelin admirably establishes the full extent of the main character’s madness. The result is a particularly anxiety-ridden thriller.

Le film de Michael Thelin, éprouvant et quelque peu jouissif, s’emploie admirablement à chercher les frontières de la folie de son personnage principal. En résulte un thriller particulièrement anxiogène.
On the evening of their 13th wedding anniversary, Dan and Joyce are waiting for the babysitter who is supposed to look after their children. Another girl comes to stand in for her. However, despite her angelic manner, Emelie proves to be dangerously perverse.
Drawing on a number of memorable works, the babysitter movie could over time become a sub-genre of the horror film, whose challenge is to build tension to a crescendo and reach the point when innocent children are in danger. This demanding and enjoyable film by Michael Thelin admirably establishes the full extent of the main character’s madness. The result is a particularly anxiety-ridden thriller.
