THE sanctimonious NSW Government nearly killed itself with an over-the-top ban on greyhound racing that it had to repeal.
Now Victoria’s Labor government has got the same moralising fervour and could get the same bloody nose.
It is pushing a new law that could end almost all breeding of dogs — not just by puppy farms but by hobby breeders of pedigrees.
And the government has sold this on a lie — that its law will affect fewer than 90 of Victoria’s 10,000 breeders. True figure: every single breeder will be affected.
Worse, every dog and cat owner in the state could be in legal trouble if their pet simply gets pregnant.
