From secret passages for cast members and hidden pirates, Disney World has more to see than meets the eye.

10. Epicots “The Seas with Nemo and Friends” is an amazing high-tech exploration of an underwater world. It is a world class saltwater aquarium that holds 5.7 million gallons of water making it one of the biggest aquariums in the United States. It’s much more than an aquarium it is a large scale conservation project. When sea turtles were injured in the BP oil spill, Disney staff rescued 68 turtles to the rehab center at the aquarium.
9. Cast members, maintenance crews, and staff need to be able to travel quickly throughout the park. Walt Disney saw this need and decided to build what he called “Utilidors.” The “Utilidors” is a vast networking tunnel system that is under the park and over 9 acres long. In the tunnels, there are dressing rooms, design, makeup facilities and even cafeterias for employees. People say that the tunnels are so vast that employees have to drive golf carts from one place to another.
8. Throughout Disney World theme parks if you keep your eyes peeled you can find tiny mickey mouse designs that have been hidden by artists and designers. There are said to be over one million of these little Mickeys sometimes hidden the image is not a complete image, and sometimes it is.
7. The Walt Disney transport system is the third largest in the state of Florida. The fleet consists of over 300 buses and will take tourists from every park to every hotel and between attractions when walking is impractical. The resort also has watercraft that is used for transporting people to and from various parks to hotels. The watercraft provides another way of transportation for tourists with extreme amounts of visitors Disney attempts to keep wait times under 20 minutes.
6. During the construction of Disney World, Walt Disney wanted a place to stay so he could personally see and watch the park being created. Above the firehouse on Main Street U.S.A he constructed a hidden apartment for his family and him to stay. The apartment is tiny but fully operational with a kitchen and small bathroom. The apartment was designed to look like a firehouse with a red and white theme.
5. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is one of the few rides that is still operational from the parks in the Magic Kingdom from opening day in 1955. The ride is an adaptation of the “Wind in the Willows “film. The ride that passengers ride today are a recreation of the original ride, and the original ride was in the section of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. There is even a picture of Mr. Toad handing the deed to Owl.
4. Sadly after the Mr. Toad's Wild Ride closed to be reworked Mr. Toad’s statue was placed outside in the graveyard at the Haunted Mansion. You can see his statue after you leave the Haunted Mansion there is a small pet cemetery off to the left. Mr. Toad is amongst the tombstones. It is said that a poem is at the base of the statue that says “Here lies Mr. Toad. Sad but true. Far less popular than Pooh”.
3. Tourist can ride on The Mark Twain Riverboat in the Magic Kingdom. As you cruise along, you can view scenic rivers that allow passengers to see life in the United States over a century ago. The ship is a recreation of ferry’s that sailed people up and down the Mississippi. If you ask to pilot the boat you will be taken to the captain’s rooms where the staff will kindly allow you to blow the horn and give you and a certificate that says you were the driver of the boat.
2. On the Great Movie ride, you can journey into movies that are amongst Hollywood’s most famous films. The ride is a dark ride that is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There is a section of the ride that is reserved for the romantic drama film Casablanca. In this section, you can see a portion of the front half of an airplane. The airplane is really the front half of the crashed plane from the Jungle Cruise ride.
1. Pirates of the Caribbean is a dark water ride that opened in 1967. The ride inspired the famous film series and was the last ride that Walt Disney participated in designing before his death. Disney brought to life the salty characters in this ride and made it a truly magnificent experience. Near the end of the attraction riders will go past a scene with pirates in a jail with a small dog holding a key in its teeth that help the pirates escape from their fate. The dog is said to be the same dog in a different ride called the Carousel of Progress.

Explaining a concept, trying to enforce a rule or change a bad behaviour? It can sometimes be easier to do it with an explanation wrapped in a myth. Adults have often fallen back on the classic myths to keep their kids in line. In fact, some of these 10 favorite myths used by parents are so popular that a lot of grown adults continue to believe them to this day.

Myth
A myth is a traditional or legendary story, collection, or study. It is derived from the Greek word mythos (μῦθος), which simply means "story". Mythology can refer either to the study of myths, or to a body or collection of myths. A myth also can be a made up story to explain why something exists.
Academic usage
Generally associated with the academic fields of mythology, mythography or folkloristics, a myth can be a story involving symbols that are capable of multiple meanings. The body of a myth in any given culture usually includes a cosmogonical or creation myth, concerning the origins of the world, or how the world and its creatures came into existence. The active beings in myths are generally gods and goddesses, heroes and heroines or animals and plants. Most myths are set in a timeless past before recorded and critical history begins.
A myth is a sacred narrative in the sense that it holds religious or spiritual significance for those who tell it. Myths also contribute to and express systems of thoughts and values. Use of the term by scholars implies neither the truth nor the falseness of the narrative. To the source culture, however, a myth by definition is "true", in that it embodies beliefs, concepts and ways of questioning to make sense of the world.

Design
Design is the creation of a plan or convention for the construction of an object or a system (as in architectural blueprints, engineering drawings, business processes, circuit diagrams and sewing patterns). Design has different connotations in different fields (see design disciplines below). In some cases the direct construction of an object (as in pottery, engineering, management, cowboy coding and graphic design) is also considered to be design.
Designing often necessitates considering the aesthetic, functional, economic and sociopolitical dimensions of both the design object and design process. It may involve considerable research, thought, modeling, interactive adjustment, and re-design. Meanwhile, diverse kinds of objects may be designed, including clothing, graphical user interfaces, skyscrapers, corporate identities, business processes and even methods of designing.
Thus "design" may be a substantive referring to a categorical abstraction of a created thing or things (the design of something), or a verb for the process of creation, as is made clear by grammatical context.

The Walt Disney World Resort, known as Walt Disney World or Disney World, is an entertainment complex in Bay Lake, Florida (mailing address is Lake Buena Vista, Florida), near Kissimmee and Orlando, and is the flagship of Disney's worldwide corporate empire. The resort opened on October 1, 1971, and is the most visited vacation resort in the world, with an attendance of over 52 million annually.
Walt Disney World is owned and operated by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, a division of The Walt Disney Company. The property covers 27,258 acres (11,031 ha; 43 sq mi), housing 27 themed resort hotels, nine non–Disney hotels, four theme parks, two water parks, four golf courses, one nine-hole walking golf course for young golfers (no electric carts allowed), two themed miniature golf courses, one camping resort, a downtown-like shopping district, and other entertainment venues. Walt Disney
Walter Elias "Walt" Disney (/ˈdɪzni/; December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American entrepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor, and film producer. He was a prominent figure within the American animation industry and throughout the world, and is regarded as a cultural icon, known for his influence and contributions to entertainment during the 20th century. As a Hollywood business mogul, he and his brother Roy O. Disney co-founded The Walt Disney Company.
As an animator and entrepreneur, Disney was particularly noted as a filmmaker and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created numerous famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Disney himself was the original voice for Mickey. During his lifetime, he won 22 Academy Awards and received four honorary Academy Awards from a total of 59 nominations, including a record of four in one year, giving him more Oscar awards and nominations than any other individual in history. Disney also won seven Emmy Awards and gave his name to the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the U.S., as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort.

9. Cast members, maintenance crews, and staff need to be able to travel quickly throughout the park. Walt Disney saw this need and decided to build what he called “Utilidors.” The “Utilidors” is a vast networking tunnel system that is under the park and over 9 acres long. In the tunnels, there are dressing rooms, design, makeup facilities and even cafeterias for employees. People say that the tunnels are so vast that employees have to drive golf carts from one place to another.
8. Throughout Disney World theme parks if you keep your eyes peeled you can find tiny mickey mouse designs that have been hidden by artists and designers. There are said to be over one million of these little Mickeys sometimes hidden the image is not a complete image, and sometimes it is.
7. The Walt Disney transport system is the third largest in the state of Florida. The fleet consists of over 300 buses and will take tourists from every park to every hotel and between attractions when walking is impractical. The resort also has watercraft that is used for transporting people to and from various parks to hotels. The watercraft provides another way of transportation for tourists with extreme amounts of visitors Disney attempts to keep wait times under 20 minutes.
6. During the construction of Disney World, Walt Disney wanted a place to stay so he could personally see and watch the park being created. Above the firehouse on Main Street U.S.A he constructed a hidden apartment for his family and him to stay. The apartment is tiny but fully operational with a kitchen and small bathroom. The apartment was designed to look like a firehouse with a red and white theme.
5. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is one of the few rides that is still operational from the parks in the Magic Kingdom from opening day in 1955. The ride is an adaptation of the “Wind in the Willows “film. The ride that passengers ride today are a recreation of the original ride, and the original ride was in the section of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. There is even a picture of Mr. Toad handing the deed to Owl.
4. Sadly after the Mr. Toad's Wild Ride closed to be reworked Mr. Toad’s statue was placed outside in the graveyard at the Haunted Mansion. You can see his statue after you leave the Haunted Mansion there is a small pet cemetery off to the left. Mr. Toad is amongst the tombstones. It is said that a poem is at the base of the statue that says “Here lies Mr. Toad. Sad but true. Far less popular than Pooh”.
3. Tourist can ride on The Mark Twain Riverboat in the Magic Kingdom. As you cruise along, you can view scenic rivers that allow passengers to see life in the United States over a century ago. The ship is a recreation of ferry’s that sailed people up and down the Mississippi. If you ask to pilot the boat you will be taken to the captain’s rooms where the staff will kindly allow you to blow the horn and give you and a certificate that says you were the driver of the boat.
2. On the Great Movie ride, you can journey into movies that are amongst Hollywood’s most famous films. The ride is a dark ride that is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There is a section of the ride that is reserved for the romantic drama film Casablanca. In this section, you can see a portion of the front half of an airplane. The airplane is really the front half of the crashed plane from the Jungle Cruise ride.
1. Pirates of the Caribbean is a dark water ride that opened in 1967. The ride inspired the famous film series and was the last ride that Walt Disney participated in designing before his death. Disney brought to life the salty characters in this ride and made it a truly magnificent experience. Near the end of the attraction riders will go past a scene with pirates in a jail with a small dog holding a key in its teeth that help the pirates escape from their fate. The dog is said to be the same dog in a different ride called the Carousel of Progress.

We’ve all been there. You are in a store with your children, or maybe the person in front of you has their kids with them, when suddenly you hear the inevitable request for that toy or this chocolate bar. More often than not, the adult responds to their demanding little one with some sort of vague promise like, “maybe next time” or “we’ll see what mommy says.” In most cases this placates the demanding child. In more extreme instance you, and everyone around you, then has to endure a classic temper-tantrum involving crying, screaming and indiscernible babble as the child tries to demand the object through a fountain of tears and mucous.
As you stand there watching your (or someone else’s) child do their best Chernobyl melt-down impression in the store, it all makes perfectly clear sense why parents use an array of myths when they deal with their kids on a daily basis. For the most part, children are good but lack experience, knowledge and the ability to understand the bigger picture. This can make trying to explain and reason with your six year old as challenging as holding the attention of a squirrel – with ADHD. Explaining a concept, trying to enforce a rule or change a bad behaviour? It can sometimes be easier to do it with an explanation wrapped in a myth. Adults have often fallen back on the classic myths to keep their kids in line. In fact, some of these 10 favorite myths used by parents are so popular that a lot of grown adults continue to believe them to this day.

Twitter couldn't actually use what they purchased as a Logo and when they realized this they had an In-house Designer Redesign a Logo based on the concept, what they purchased was "artwork" from an illustartor rather than a Logo from a Designer.

Nike- the Nike logo was commissioned by Phil Knightly co-founder back in 1971 while he was a professor at a university to a Graphic Design Student for $35 which adjusted for inflation today would be $217. Added to that a few years later Designer Carolyn Davidson was given a gift of a Diamond Ring with the Nike Logo she designed and 500 shares ($600,000.00 value) of Nike stock.... so NO the Nike Logo did not cost $35 by any stretch of the imagination....

Google- The first Google Logo was create in GIMP by a Co-Founder of Google. If you make something yourself, with free software of course it cost you $0 all of my stuff cost me $0 to design too...
Coca Cola- in 1885 the logo was designed by the bookeeper/accountant of what was then the Pemberton Chemical Company, Frank Robinson who also by the way came up with the name Coca Cola! He went on to become one of the marketers for the company and eventually one of it's directors. When a friend or employee does something it can cost you $0. But it actually cost whatever his salary was and then we'd have to adjust it for inflation.

SO with the exception of Google, which was a DIY project, none of these logos was "cheap" or "free" at all in the grand scheme of things. That is what "context" and FACTS bring to a story. The myth of BIG COMPANIES WITH FREE LOGOS is just that... a myth, unless you made it yourself. When an employee does it, it cost your salary, and referencing old work before the industry really found it's legs and people knew what things were worth and not even adjusting for inflation makes your argument irrelevant in the first place.
Don't haggle with designers, when they ask for something you can either afford it and are willing to pay it, or you aren't, don't tell them "it's not worth it".
