Dumped Toyota Camry painted completely gold in North Fitzroy

It's the spray can with the Midas touch.
Some enterprising aerosol paint enthusiast has completely covered a car dumped in Melbourne's inner suburbs with gold paint.
The crumpled Toyota Camry had been sitting in North Fitzroy, near the intersection of McKean Street and Michael Street, for a couple of weeks before getting the makeover.
One local said that whoever crashed the car into the tree probably took off in a hurry, as the driver's side window was left down and the keys were still in the ignition.
In proof that just about anything can become a piece of street art, the installation has become an overnight landmark.
Photos of the gilded jalopy were popping up across social media on Monday morning.
Before the paint job, the only attention the car attracted was a vehicle defect notice and some graffiti tags.
Now it looks like a sculpture bound for MONA in Hobart.
All we can say is, at least it wasn't yarn-bombed.
Fairfax Media has contacted the City of Yarra to find out what will become of the golden Camry.
So @VictoriaPolice if a stolen car is left with no attempt to clear for a week the Fitzroy North artists will do what they do. #goldfinger pic.twitter.com/YNVXl94q2D
