See us on screen and put us in these situations we all go through and, you know, race is addressed but it's also like relationship issues and also the story of just like friendship, two black girls being friends, turning 30 and ushering themselves and each other through that kind of transitional period. Growing up did you have any one on TV you felt you could relate to. In the '90s, yes, everybody. It was like "Living single." I could identify with khadisha and "A different world." "Fresh prince" "Girlfriends" so many shows I felt like I wanted to be a part of that era and wanted to write for those shows then by the time I got to college there weren't that many faces.
