They say there used to be packs of dogs wandering the streets, scavenging for meat scraps from Butchertown, and thus, the Dogpatch came to be. The Dogpatch/Central Waterfront district of San Francisco: located on the eastern side of the city, the Dogpatch neighborhood is just west of the neighboring Potrero Hill community, south of Mission Bay. Today it consists of half residential and half industrial structures, including a variety of warehouses, which most recently have been converted into lofts and condos. It is one of the oldest districts in the city, and officially became the designated Historic District of San Francisco in 2002. Some structures date back to the 1800s. Third Street, the main artery of the Dogpatch, provides easy transportation to downtown. It includes a boxing gym...

This was some of the highest speed winds we have ever hiked in. Footing was precarious, and a number of people did get knocked down. Oddly, at the top, it was reasonably calm, and had great views.

I wrote, produced, edited, and directed this feature film for my Junior year Independent Film final at La Conner High School. It premiered on May 20, 1997 at the La Conner High School auditorium on the big screen. It was my first and last attempt at doing a completely serious picture. I learned a lot from it, and the shoot and post-production was both challenging and extremely enlightening. -Zach Klinefelter, 8/14/12
This was my sophomore year Independent Film class final project. It was a pivotal chapter in my growth as a filmmaker. It was the first time I enlisted the aid of actors beyond friends family, and an article/ (positive) review was printed in the local paper, the Channel Town Press. It publicly premiered at La Conner High School on June 6, 1996. The crowd- a mix of cast, friends, family, and students- were highly entertained, clapping and laughing. A loose sequel to Ed Wood's classic "Plan 9 From Outer Space," this was made intentionally bad- from writing to execution. Two teachers from the high school appear in the film- Ralph Dalseg and Vince Sellen. Ralph would star in two more of my films shot at LCHS, and became one of my closest and dearest friends/ allies at the school. He sponsored...
This was my first sequel. It continued the events of "PLAN X" with a mixture of new and old characters. I distinctly remember writing three drafts of the screenplay, and it was the first time I storyboarded almost the entire film. It's a very rough, early movie to me- but at the time it felt like a significant step to me. The Skagit Valley Herald made me and "The Last Plan" their cover story for the graduating class of La Conner High School, despite me barely even graduating. -Zach Klinefelter, 8/14/12
