The Tulsa 66ers defeated the Canton Charge, 108-77, in their home finale on Friday night behind a defensive team effort. Dominic McGuire recorded the first triple-double of his NBA D-League career with 10 points, 15 rebounds, 13 assists and four blocks.McGuire is the second 66er in the past week to collect a triple-double, following Mustafa Shakur's 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists last Friday against Rio Grande Valley. With a 31-point performance, Mario Little broke the 66ers franchise record for points scored in a season, bringing his season total to 929. The previous record was owned by Shakur with 905 points in 2009-10. Little, who scored 59 total points last season, holds the largest increase in scoring average among returning D-League players, boosting his scoring average from 3.9 in 2012-13 to 19.0 this year. Five Tulsa players scored in double figures, including Xavier Alexander with 20 points and 13 boards. Isaiah Wilkerson contributed 17 points, four rebounds and six assists and Maurice Sutton posted 16 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.The 66ers recorded 14 assists in the first half while shooting 51.1 percent from the field to hold a 56-42 advantage midway through the game.The Tulsa defense came out of halftime with a strong presence, holding the Charge to 3-of-16 shooting and seven points in the third quarter -- the lowest-scoring quarter by a Tulsa opponent this season. The 66ers prevented Canton from making a field goal until the 4:45 mark of the third quarter, propelling Tulsa to a 79-49 lead entering the final frame.The 66ers continued to hold the Charge in the fourth quarter as Tulsa's defense produced the second-lowest scoring game by an opponent this year. Tulsa Head Coach Darko Rajakovic credited the team's rebounding efforts to Tulsa's success on both ends of the floor. The 66ers outrebounded the Charge 54-36."Our guys did a great job rebounding all night," said Rajakovic. "Every game that we rebound well we are very aggressive, denying passes and not allowing easy drives. Our third quarter was just a continuation of the tone we set in the first half. Our guys came out very motivated tonight to come out in front of the home crowd and get this win."
