The Four Corners is a region of the United States consisting of the southwestern corner of Colorado, southeastern corner of Utah, northeastern corner of Arizona, and northwestern corner of New Mexico. The Four Corners area is named after the quadripoint where the boundaries of the four states meet, where the Four Corners Monument is located. It is the only location in the United States where four states meet. Most of the Four Corners region belongs to semi-autonomous Native American nations, the largest of which is the Navajo Nation, followed by Hopi, Ute, and Zuni tribal reserves and nations. The Four Corners region is part of a larger region known as the Colorado Plateau and is mostly rural, rugged, and arid. In addition to the monument, commonly visited areas within Four Corners include Monument Valley, Mesa Verde National Park, Chaco Canyon, and Canyon de Chelly National Monument. The most populous city in the Four Corners region is Farmington, New Mexico, followed by Durango, Colorado.

"What do Vegemite, Cadbury's chocolate, Bega cheese and Kellogg's cereals have in common? They are all Halal certified. Like many products on our supermarket shelves, they've been given the tick of approval for Muslim consumers to buy. For food producers and exporters it's a straightforward pragmatic business practice. The manufacturer pays for an inspection to gain Halal certification, which in turn opens up lucrative markets. "Halal certification is a ticket to play." Export Business Advisor To the growing anti-Halal movement it's the thin edge of the wedge, a sign of the Islamification of Australia. "I do not want religious practices imposed upon me and I do not want to fund these practices with my everyday grocery purchases." Anti-Halal Campaigner It's become a touchstone issue fo...
If you want to catch up on Four Corners' investigation into murder, money and corruption in #Malaysia, here's the short edition of Linton Besser's explosive report.
30 March 2015 Four Corners reporter Stephen Long exposes the highly questionable business practices of so called 'payday' lenders. Payday lending is now a major business with some companies listed on the stock exchange. The industry defends itself, claiming it provides a service the banks aren't interested in delivering. "There are 10 million Australians that don't have access to a credit card. Where are they going to get credit?" - Payday Lending Company CEO But as Long tests this claim he uncovers a trail of misery, meeting people like Anna. A hard working mother of three, she took a short-term loan from a payday lender to buy her daughter's school computer. Borrowing the money was easy, too easy, and before long she borrowed more money, sinking ever deeper into debt. Anna had disco...
This is a documentary about two Australian men that traveled with their adopted son for him to be abused by men all over the world. This film will bring you out of your comfort zone, but knowing about the things that happen to children is important - so that its possible to do something about it. Below is the original text off the "Four Corners" website: To the world they appeared as model parents with a beautiful son. But the happy facade set up by Australian citizen Peter Truong and his American partner Mark Newton concealed the darkest of secrets. They claimed he was their surrogate child. But Newton and Truong had actually bought him for US$8,000, the result of an unwanted pregnancy. They sexually trained and groomed their son to be exploited by a network of men around the world, ...

IMPORTANT INACCURACIES BELOW! Documentary I made on the Four Corners region. I went to/covered these places: - Antelope Canyon - Monument Valley - Mesa Verde National Park - Four Corners Monument - Chaco Culture National Historic Park (Chaco Canyon) - Taos Pueblo - Ranchos de Taos - Bandelier National Monument - Acoma Pueblo - El Morro National Monument - Zuni Pueblo - Petrified Forest National Park and Painted Desert area - Grand Canyon There were some mistakes, inaccuracies, and missed details I had because of various production goofs: - I talk about frybread at the Four Corners Monument. This was before I actually approached the frybread stand there, which is quite decrepit. I would recommend instead getting frybread at Taos Pueblo, which has a very pleasant and friendly frybread vend...

Monday 14 March 2016 They're the big game animals that symbolise Africa - lions, rhinos and elephants. And they're top of the list for the big game hunters with deep pockets who travel to Africa to hunt and kill. "It's all about the size. The bigger the horns, the bigger the animal, the better it is." Taxidermist For $22,000, you can shoot a lion, $120,000 will get you a rhinoceros. Some safari hunts even let you choose the size and colour of the animal, right out of a catalogue. "A lot of hunters are collectors, they've hunted everything, now they want to add something new, something exciting... It's like a dress, no woman likes to wear the same dress for three years. They like to change." Game Breeder Business is booming. "It's a huge business. A lot of farmers are leaving cattle-b...

The four corners drill is a common staple in a lot of softball team practices. However, the footwork needed to handle throws to the left or right are often not worked on prior to completing the drill as a team. Take the time to teach each progression as the footwork does not always come natural for each athlete.

Monday 9 May 2016 By Caro Meldrum-Hanna and Clay Hichens "What would happen if that was your daughter?" Family Friend The body of a young woman lies on the beach. Two panic stricken men try to work out what to do. One makes a call to '000', the other goes and flags down help. "He said there was a girl on the beach and they needed help to resuss her and that she'd drowned in the surf." Witness But as people began arriving on the scene it became clear the men had serious questions to answer. The young woman had died of horrendous internal injuries. "I remember making it quite clear at the time, words to the effect of, 'something's dodgy'." Witness Five years on, what happened on that beach haunts everyone involved. "I just I miss her so much and all I want is justice done." Mother D...
Monday 20th April 2015 By Linton Besser and Peter Cronau Australia has been gripped by a national debate over how to fund our university education. But perhaps there's a more important question: what is it worth? A Four Corners investigation has unearthed alarming new evidence of a decline in academic standards at institutions around the country. Lecturers and tutors are grappling with a tide of academic misconduct and pressure from faculty managers to pass weak students. Many say commercial imperatives are overtaking academic rigour. But why is this happening? As Federal Government funding for universities has declined, Vice-Chancellors have been forced to look elsewhere to fill the void. And for much of the past two decades, they've been tapping into a booming market - full fee-pa...
Monday 12th October 2015 Whether it's waterfront trophy homes or apartments off the plan, or even massive commercial developments, Chinese investment in our real estate has surged by more than 400 per cent in just five years, with as much as A$12 billion spent in the previous financial year alone. Property is now the number one Chinese investment in Australia. So who are these investors and what do they see in Australia? On Four Corners you'll meet members of China's super rich, the new generation of global property investors who call Australia home: "I think this is the best period of time in Australia's history. The vast capital from China, including entrepreneurs like us, have been looking for investment opportunities worldwide." Chinese multi-millionaire property investor And they're ...
Monday 14 April 2014 Australians love their cars. And for much of the past six decades the cars they've loved most have been home-grown. In that time, Australia has been one of a select group of countries with the capacity to design, engineer and build its own cars. For 60 years that capacity has been a cornerstone of the country's industrial capacity. Now all that is about to change. When the new Coalition Government made it clear it wasn't prepared to spend more money assisting the car industry, the big manufacturers Holden and Toyota said goodbye. Next on Four Corners, reporter Stephen Long looks at the impact as the car industry heads to the end of the road. Long finds that for some, this represents a triumph of good policy with limited fallout: "This form of restructuring will hav...
Greyhounds used in live baiting in Australia 2015
I remember her in the trailer at night
With her hair all wet and black and rolled up tight
With the ribbons around her fingers
Waiting for her hair
Like the visions of a dreamer
A curling through the air
I remember her blue kimono in the moonlight
Drifting across her breast in the moonlight
And I cupped her in my hands
Just like two rainbows
While she kissed me upon the mouth... of Colorado
Ahhh Colorado
Affectionado
Out of Texas
Yeah down to Mexico up San Diego
California
Arizonia
Yeah to 1 2 3 4 corners of... Colorado
And I remember her anger anchored on the night of sailing
Cause the captain was drunk with a Gypsy bitch on the railing
And with a sigh she cried
Beneath that bastards' boom
But her mast it slashed... like a dagger through the Spanish moon
An I remember her dark deck dancing on a wild new sea
And the moan she groaned rolling from under me
A Spanish bride
Blazing before the dawn
With her back on Madrid... and her belly on Tenochtitlan
Ahhh Colorado
Affectionado
Out of Texas
Yeah down to Mexico
Up San Diego
California
Arizonia
and 1, 2, 3, 4 corners of Colorado
