These also include our superstar Rajnikanth, Mahendra Singh Dhoni etc. Take a look at some of the Indian celebs who resigned from the government jobs for his passion of acting. 1.Rajinikanth Rajinikanth was born as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad in a Marathi family in Bangalore. At the start of his career, he took up a number of odd jobs including being a carpenter and a coolie. He was later employed by Bangalore Transport Service (BTS), where he worked as a bus conductor. He then began to take part in stage plays. He was also offered a part in playwright Topi Muniappa’s mythological plays. 2. Mahendra Singh Dhoni Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Indian cricket captain was once a Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) at Kharagpur railway station from 2001 to 2003, under South Eastern Railway in Midnapore (W), a district in West Bengal. From a normal TTE to a winner of the World Cup, Dhoni’s life journey is really inspiring. His colleagues remember him as a very honest, straightforward employee of the Indian Railways and now he is become youth icon in the field of cricket. 3. Shivaji Satam ACP Pradyuman from C.I.D. does not require any introduction. He appeared in many Hindi and Marathi films and become household name for his role as ACP Pradyuman. He too was Government Employee and worked as a cashier in the Central Bank of India. Shivaji was quite fond of theatre, a vocation he pursued while working at the bank. His acting talent was first recognized when he participated in the inter-bank stage competition. 4. Harbhajan Singh An Indian international cricketer Harbhajan Singh appears like he was born to spin the ball and take wickets. Following his performance against Australia in 2001, the Government of Punjab awarded him Rs. 5 lakhs, a plot of land, and an offer to become a Deputy Superintendent of Police in Punjab Police, which he accepted. 5. Dilip Kumar Yusuf Khan famously known as Dilip Kumar or as Tragedy King. He got the job on the merit of his knowledge of good written and spoken English. Amol Palekar The common man of Hindi cinema, Amol Palekar is famous for his convincing “aam aadmi” portrayal on screen and for giving memorable roles in classics like ‘Golmaal’. Amol used to work at the Bank of India before he switched full-time to a career in acting. He decided not to act after 1986 in order to concentrate on filmmaking. 7. Amrish Puri Amrish Puri, who is remembered for playing iconic negative roles in Hindi cinema as well as other Indian and international film industries. Johnny Walker Johnny Walker is the screen name of an Indian movie comedian who born as Badruddin Jamaluddin Kazi. He acted in around 300 movies and become a household name.
