Plot: Badal (Bobby Deol) is a victim of the 1984 riots, brought up by a terrorist (Ashish Vidyarthi). Badal lives with the sole aim of exterminating a police cop Rana (Ashutosh Rana) now the DGP. Rana was responsible for cruel harassment and murders of innocent people in the villages of Punjab. Including that of Badal's whole family. An honest police officer (Amrish Puri) and his family give shelter to young Badal where he falls in love with Rani Mukherjee. Plot: Badal (Bobby Deol) is a naive but intelligent young man who comes from a small village to the big city. He is introduced to city life by Damru (Harish Patel) who now calls himself Danny. When Badal attends college, he meets with pretty and percocious, Tina Oberoi (Twinkle Khanna), and after a few misunderstanding and misadventures, both fall in love. This is not taken well by Tina's dad, (Raj Babbar), who hopes to marry Tina with his friend's (Bharat Kapoor) son. Tina's dad complains to the college principal (Vijay Kashyap), but Tina testifies in favour of Badal. Tina's dad then asks a corrupt cop, Neghi, who is the city's Assistant Commissioner of Police, for assistance. Neghi arrests Badal on trumped up charges and imprisons him. Badal's dad (Mukesh Khanna) also comes to the big city to try and make sense of why Badal ended up in prison. Tina's dad gives a contract to Neghi to have Badal killed, to which Neghi agrees and hires a gang of ruthless outlaws to hunt and kill Badal. He also pressurizes Tina not to acknowledge and meet Badal anymore, and Tina reluctantly agrees. Will Badal survive? Will Tina and Badal's love be fated to end tragically?

Plot: The evil Zamindar of a small village has his lustful eyes on the beautiful wife of Jagga, a labourer, who also has a small son. He has her brought in by one of his men, and has her raped and killed. The son is also killed in this process. An enraged Jagga wants to avenge this humiliation, but in vain. He abducts one of two of the Zamindar's sons, and brings him up as his own. His motive is to raise this child in a responsible manner, and instill all the good values in him, so that he can then confront the evil Zamindar later. Years later, this young man has grown up to be called Badal, while the other son has grown up to be called Police Inspector Ram. Now Jagga is all set to avenge the humiliation and death of his wife and son, and pits the unknowing father and son against each other.

Plot: Maharaj Singh is a proud owner of several derby-winning stallions, and lives in a palatial farmhouse with his wife, Rukmini and young son, Chimpoo. One day dacoits attack his farmhouse with a view of stealing the stallions, but Maharaj fights them, killing the son of the leader of the dacoits, Maan Singh. Maan Singh swears to avenge the death of his son, and abducts Chimpoo. Years later, a servant of Maharaj, Ram Singh, brings a young man named Badal into the Singhs lives, and tells them that he is their missing son Chimpoo. Both Maharaj, Rukmini, and their daughter, Sunita, are delighted at having Chimpoo back in their lives. Then Badal and Sunita fall in love with each other. It is then Badal confesses to Maharaj that he is not Chimpoo, but a former convicted jailbird, who was asked to impersonate him by an embittered Ram Singh. Maharaj does not want to relay this information to an ailing Rukmini, and decides to keep it quiet for the rest of their lives. But sooner or later Rukmini is bound to find out - especially when Badal and Sunita openly show their love - will this shock of an intimate brother and a sister spare her or has fate something else in store for her.

Plot: Middle-classed young and dashing Rohit Kumar Saxena falls in love with wealthy and lovely Reshmi, and both decide to get married. Reshmi's dad, the wealthy Diwan Sardarilal is strongly opposed to this marriage, but relents when Reshmi refuses to marry anyone else. As a result, Rohit and Reshmi get married. Shortly after their marriage, Reshmi gets pregnant, news that is very well received. Then Reshmi enters a beauty pageant, and wins it - being crowned Miss India, with offers to travel abroad. Reshmi decides that she does not want the child now, but Rohit opposes this decision. Both quarrel, and separate, and Reshmi goes back to live with her dad. Shortly thereafter, Sardarilal sends a legal notice to Rohit asking for a divorce. Devastated, Rohit seeks employment, and finds it as a station master at a remote hill station. He meets with Reshmi and her dad, and is humiliated because he is poor. He decides to accumulate enough money to win back Reshmi's love, and decides to do it quickly. This decision results in his being arrested for stealing a suitcase full of jewelery and valuables, and he is also charged with killing the owner of the suitcase - a Miss Sonia. Looks like Rohit's dream of getting back together with his wife will remain unfulfilled during this lifetime.

Plot: Manu is the princely heir to the kingdom ruled over now by Ranimaa. He likes to know what his going on, and changes his princely get-up, and dresses up as an ordinary man, and goes around the territory. He meets up with gorgeous Bijli, and both fall in love. When Bijli introduces him to her dad, he identifies himself as Badal. Then he notices that soldiers from his palace are molesting the young women from this community. After his return to the palace, he finds out that the soldiers had been acting on the orders of Kunver Pratap Singh, and he immediately puts a stop to this. This angers Pratap Singh, and he plans to avenge this humiliation, with a plan so devious that will endanger the lives of Manu, the Ranimaa, as well Bijli and the people in her community.

Plot: Mann Singh rebels when the oppressive Maharaja's soldiers attempt to extract more taxes from impoverished farmers. He storms into the palace, interrupts dancers and threatens to kill Rajkumar Kiran. The Maharaja agrees to withdraw all taxes but his orders are over-ruled by the Mahamantri, who has the former as well as the Maharani forcibly confined. Mann Singh then abducts Kiran, takes him home, re-names him Badal, brings him up along with his son, Babloo, and wife, and teaches him how to excel in sword-play and to fight the tyrannical Mahamantri. Years later Badal has grown up, and is in love with Aarti. When Mahamantri's son, Darshan, sees Aarti, he wants her for his own, and when he sends his men to abduct her, Badal dons a mask and comes to her rescue much to the chagrin of Mahamantri, who sends Darshan to deal with the bandit who they call Kala Aadmi. Badal then manages to pull wool over Darshan's eyes, gets recruited in his army, finds out he is the Rajkumar, and goes to identify himself to his still-confined parents. Badal does not know that the wily Mahamantri is already aware of this meeting, and has made arrangements to ensure his death in order to pave the way for Darshan to become the next Maharaja.
