Jews condemn far-right party’s rebirth

AUSTRALIAN Jewish leaders have this week joined NSW Premier Morris Iemma in condemning the ultra right-wing Australia First movement’s decision to reregister as a political party.

Australia First’s NSW secretary, Dr Jim Saleam, told the Australian that he is writing to supporters seeking the 500 membership forms necessary to register with the Australian Electoral Commission. If successful, Dr Saleam plans to run in state and federal ballots on a campaign to keep Australia white.

Iemma’s only Jewish cabinet member, Eric Roozendaal, told the AJN: “I clearly remember the photos of Jim Saleam wearing a Nazi uniform. I don’t think he has any contribution to make in a democratic country like Australia.”

B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission chairman Dr Paul Gardner said the group “seems to hanker for a return to the days of White Australia”. He said it is “singularly unsuitable for a place in our state or federal parliaments”.

Iemma said the NSW Labor Party would not direct any future election preferences to Australia First, which has alleged links to several neo-Nazi groups and was involved in fomenting racial hatred during the Cronulla riots last month.

Either way he is quite a nobody and won't last long in politics, not even in NSW.

I do hope so because I read it as he has evidence and/or charges have been laid that supports a claim Australia First were involved in inciting Racial Hatred leading up to the Cronulla incident.

Or he himself is guilty of defaming and discriminating.

must be, as there is no proof what so ever about that party being involved
in the Cronulla rally.
