Environmental quality is a set of properties and characteristics of the environment, either generalized or local, as they impinge on human beings and other organisms. It is a measure of the condition of an environment relative to the requirements of one or more species and or to any human need or purpose.
Environmental quality is a general term which can refer to varied characteristics that relate to the natural environment as well as the built environment, such as air and water purity or pollution, noise and the potential effects which such characteristics may have on physical and mental health.
In the United States, the term is applied with a body of federal and state standards and regulations that are monitored by regulatory agencies. All states in the U.S. have some form of a department or commission that is responsible for a variety of activities such as monitoring quality, responding to citizen complaints, and enforcing environmental regulations. The agency with the lead implementation responsibility for most major federal environmental laws (e.g. Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act) is the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Other federal agencies with significant oversight roles include the Council on Environmental Quality, Department of the Interior and the Army Corps of Engineers.

(Comments allowed, unlike the original ADEQ video) So, Kelli Ward made it pretty clear she doesn't necessarily believe what these people are saying, but made it clear a number of people had been asking her to hold a meeting, so here it is in its entirety. I applaud her for holding the meeting, even if she doesn't agree with what the people are saying, that's a good representative. The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality apparently can't do anything even if Barium, Aluminum and Strontium are being sprayed over the entire population, even though their mission statement says they are supposed to look after the environment and health of their citizens- It's all the FAA and Federal Government, nothing states can do is the message.

Patterns in environmental quality and sustainability
Lessons Learned from 99 LEED projects is a 6-part series that looks at 99 LEED Gold and Platinum certified projects to identify what strategies work best and are most popular in each of the 6 LEED categories: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation in Design. We will be discussing the most frequently applied strategies, those that are easiest to implement, and those that stand out as especially unique or elegant solutions. This particular course provides an in- depth look at the importance of improved indoor environmental quality as it applies to Green Buildings; LEED Projects. 99 LEED certified Projects (30+Platinum, 40+Gold and Rest Silver) representing new construction, existing building and commercia...
The quality of water we use and drink determines in large part quality of our lifes. Clean water is essential to the health and well-being of people preserving the integrity of the natural environment and sustaining economies. For many expectant parents, one of the primary tasks they need to accomplish before the birth of their child is getting the nursery ready for the new edition to the family. This can be an especially exciting time for first-time parents as they get ready to begin a new chapter in their lives. As new moms and dads shop for baby clothes, furniture and accessories, and begin decorating the nursery for the new arrival, the health and safety of the room’s future occupant should be of the outmost importance. Since newborns and young children spend so much time in their room, a critical component of this is the indoor air quality (IAQ) and indoor environmental quality (IEQ) of the nursery. Something as basic as painting a nursery can lead to high levels of airborne chemicals such as volatile ...

William Nazaroff is a Daniel Tellep Distinguished Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley. His research centers on air quality engineering, emphasizing two themes: pollutant dynamics in indoor air and exposure science. Abstract: Along business-as-usual trajectories, atmospheric CO2 levels will rise from the current 400 ppm to the range 650-900 ppm by year 2100. The best alternative for limiting climate change during this century involves transforming society’s energy supply and end-use systems to achieve large-scale cuts in fossil carbon emissions. Both adaptation and mitigation responses are needed. The large scales of necessary changes pose enormous challenges for those concerned with the built environment. If we do successfully navigate past...
