Tokyo Ghoul is set in an alternate reality where ghouls, individuals who can only survive by eating human flesh, live among the normal humans in secret, hiding their true nature to evade pursuit from the authorities. Including enhanced speed and senses, a regular ghoul is several times stronger than a normal human and have at least one special predatory organ called a "Kagune", which they can manifest and use as a weapon during combat. Another distinctive trait of a ghoul is that when they are excited, the color of their sclera of both eyes turning black and their irises red, or in only one eye in the case of a half-ghoul. A half-ghoul can either be born naturally as a ghoul and a human's offspring, or artificially created by transplanting some ghoul organs into a human. In both cases, a half-ghoul is usually much stronger than a pure-blood ghoul.
Tokyo (東京, Tōkyō, "Eastern Capital") (Japanese: [toːkjoː], English /ˈtoʊki.oʊ/), officially Tokyo Metropolis (東京都, Tōkyō-to), is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan, and is both the capital and largest city of Japan. The Greater Tokyo Area is the most populous metropolitan area in the world. It is the seat of the Emperor of Japan and the Japanese government. Tokyo is in the Kantō region on the southeastern side of the main island Honshu and includes the Izu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. Formerly known as Edo, it has been the de facto seat of government since 1603 when Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu made the city his headquarters. It officially became the capital after Emperor Meiji moved his seat to the city from the old capital of Kyoto in 1868; at that time Edo was renamed Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolis was formed in 1943 from the merger of the former Tokyo Prefecture (東京府, Tōkyō-fu) and the city of Tokyo (東京市, Tōkyō-shi).

A ghoul is a monster or evil spirit in Arabian mythology, associated with graveyards and consuming human flesh. The oldest surviving literature that mention ghouls is likely One Thousand and One Nights. The term was first used in English literature in 1786, in William Beckford's Orientalist novel Vathek, which describes the ghūl of Arabian folklore. In modern fiction, the term has often been used for a certain kind of undead monster. By extension, the word ghoul is also used in a derogatory sense to refer to a person who delights in the macabre, or whose profession is linked directly to death, such as a gravedigger or graverobber.
Ghoul is from the Arabic غول ghūl, from ghala, "to seize". The term is etymologically related to Gallu, a Mesopotamian demon.
In ancient Arabian folklore, the ghūl (Arabic) dwells in burial grounds and other uninhabited places. The ghul is a fiendish type of jinni believed to be sired by Iblis.
A ghoul is also a desert-dwelling, shapeshifting, demon that can assume the guise of an animal, especially a hyena. It lures unwary people into the desert wastes or abandoned places to slay and devour them. The creature also preys on young children, drinks blood, steals coins, and eats the dead, then taking the form of the person most recently eaten.

Tokyo Ghoul OST - Glassy Sky sung by Donna Burke 東京喰種-トーキョーグール- OST - Glassy Sky - - - "How ugly we are..." Tokyo Ghoul OST - Glassy Sky is finally arranged! It took me two weeks to arrange this, particularly because it's not your usual anime song structure. It's much more flowing, much more improv-like. I'm actually a massive fan of Donna Burke, the singer of this song due to her works in Metal Gear games. Her Heaven's Divide song is probably one of my favorites. And Glassy Sky is of course is damn good as well. Subtitles for the song lyrics will be added later, I only have a short time to record/edit the video today because it's my sister's graduation banquet tonight, so I rushed the upload. Hopefully there are no errors in the editing or syncing. Hope you guys enjoy this one. -...

I was feeling a little down the other day so I decided to click record and vent a little by singing this. It's not that good (you can even hear me move around lol) but I absolutely love this song. It has so many emotional elements that I can relate to and I get shivers every time I listen to Donna Burke's gorgeous voice. So, I hope you all enjoy this cover! Ahh, and thank you all so much for 2k subs! I honestly don't consider myself that good but, I appreciate all the support you guys have given me, especially the support from my dear friends ;A; it REALLY means a lot. Ishter is one of my most favorite pianists on here and I'm so glad he covered this song. I don't think it would've been the same if I used the original instrumental! Check him out if you haven't already! He is a god. Tha...

Flew in Friday night
Twelve hours, my head felt tired
Couldn't stop for too long
Between here and oz, I knew we'd gone
A long way from our home
Cultural shock was stinger strong
It didn't matter 'cause for me
Adventure is what I need and so did she
'Stasia said "let's get wild"
I want to see the town and maybe find a place to dance and have a good time
'Cause Tony you see I've got needs if you please
How does it feel to be out here without a home
Y'all keep on moving 'til you find what you're searching
CHORUS
Friday night, I'm on the floor
I can't get enough but I want some more
I know we'll back another day
Dancing all night in Tokyo
Flash of light through the door
Just like a kid in a candy store
My favourite track, I have to stay
Dancing all night in Tokyo
As I thought, the venue was fine
The people were crazy, the people were high
You got to know about my friend called Alexis
He humped a ride here from Texas
State of mind, we all try
To do our best from time to time
So now we're here across the world
Still don't know where I belong
How does it feel to be out here without a home
Y'all keep on moving 'til you find what you're searching
