Who Wrote the Bible? The Documentary Hypothesis
Scholars have concluded Moses didn't write the Five Books of Moses. Who did?
The “Documentary Hypothesis” is the most widely accepted explanation of the Bible's authorship among modern scholars. Although Moses was traditionally considered the author of the first five books of the Hebrew Bible (Torah, or Pentateuch,) in this lecture we look at historical, archaeological, mythological, and literary evidence that suggests many different sources were compiled primarily during the Babylonian exile, many centuries after Moses would have lived, if he was a historical figure at all.

Is JEDP and the Documentary Hypothesis Real? Dr. Michael Heiser
Dr. Michael Heiser shares what he thinks about the documentary hypothesis, also known as JEDP. This theory posits that many categories of editors came along over hundreds of years and edited the Torah or Pentateuch, the first 5 books of the Bible.
Heiser is a supplementarian, which means he doesn't believe Moses wrote 100% of the Pentateuch, but that Moses was the source of most of it. Heiser does believe in multiple editors, particularly those in the Babylonian captivity where scribes edited the Old Testament.
Dr. Heiser makes it a point to say that his supplementarian views do not mean he has a low view of Scripture. He still has a high view of Scripture and believes in the inspiration of the Bible.

The Composition of the Pentateuch: Renewing the Documentary Hypothesis (The Anchor Yale Bible Reference Library) First Edition
For well over two centuries the question of the composition of the Pentateuch has been among the most central and hotly debated issues in the field of biblical studies. In this book, Joel Baden presents a fresh and comprehensive argument for the Documentary Hypothesis. Critically engaging both older and more recent scholarship, he fundamentally revises and reorients the classical model of the formation of the Pentateuch. Interweaving historical and methodological chapters with detailed textual case studies, Baden provides a critical introduction to the history of Pentateuchal scholarship, discussions on the most pressing issues in the current debate, and a practical model for the study of the biblical text.

Professor Joel Baden dives deep into the Documentary Hypothesis on trying to make sense of the contradictions in the Hebrew Bible without trying to propose ad-hoc harmonization methods like many Rabbinic & Christian theologians throughout history.
