The devotion to the Sacred Heart (also known as the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Sacratissimi Cordis Iesu in Latin) is one of the most widely practiced and well-known Roman Catholic devotions, taking Jesus Christ's physical heart as the representation of His divine love for humanity.
This devotion is predominantly used in the Roman Catholic Church and among some high-church Anglicans and Lutherans. The devotion is especially concerned with what the Church deems to be the love and compassion of the heart of Christ towards humanity, and its long suffering. The origin of this devotion in its modern form is derived from a Roman Catholic nun from France, Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, who said she learned the devotion from Jesus during a series of apparitions to her between 1673 and 1675, and later, in the 19th century, from the mystical revelations of another Roman Catholic nun in Portugal, Blessed Mary of the Divine Heart Droste zu Vischering, a religious of the Good Shepherd, who requested, in the name of Christ that Pope Leo XIII consecrate the entire world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Predecessors to the modern devotion arose unmistakably in the Middle Ages in various facets of Catholic mysticism.
Heart of Jesus can refer to:
Jesus (/ˈdʒiːzəs/; Greek: Ἰησοῦς Iesous; 7–2 BC to AD 30–33), also referred to as Jesus of Nazareth or Jesus Christ, is the central figure of Christianity, whom the teachings of most Christian denominations hold to be the Son of God. Christians believe Jesus is the awaited Messiah (or Christ, the Anointed One) of the Old Testament.
Virtually all modern scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed historically, and historians consider the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) to be the best sources for investigating the historical Jesus. Most scholars agree that Jesus was a Galilean, Jewish rabbi who preached his message orally, was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified by the order of the Roman Prefect Pontius Pilate. In the current mainstream view, Jesus was an apocalyptic preacher and the founder of a renewal movement within Judaism, although some prominent scholars argue that he was not apocalyptic. After Jesus' death, his followers believed he was resurrected, and the community they formed eventually became the Christian church. The widely used calendar era, abbreviated as "AD" from the Latin "Anno Domini" ("in the year of our Lord") or sometimes as "CE", is based on the birth of Jesus. His birth is celebrated annually on December 25 as a holiday known as Christmas.

NOVENA TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS My God and my Lord, Jesus Christ, in deepest humility I kneel before you and adore your Divine Heart. No one dares to doubt that you will grant all graces necessary to our salvation. Did you not say: “God alone is good,” and are not you my very God? Is not your Heart the Heart of God who is all love? Therefore, there can be no power that is able to hinder you from granting our requests. Nothing is difficult for your omnipotence and your riches are infinite and can never be exhausted. No matter how often I may have sinned against you, I shall not despair because I know that you are God, infinite in generosity and mercy, always ready to pardon every contrite and humble sinner. Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (When in Difficulties) Try it and you will see the miracle... *I got this prayer from the Facebook page of The Divine Mercy (https://www.facebook.com/thedivinemercy). I decided to make my first video about prayer. The song I used in the video was from Don Moen's "God Will Make A Way" instrumental version. All of these things are not originally mine (the prayer and the song); but I made it into a video.

This was the last session on one of my customers right arm (tricep) of a custom Sacred Heart design. This was one of my favourite tattoos to do as I had full range to create a half sleeve with set elements and matain motion and direction, which still kept the piece loose, with lots of depth and detail. Christians need to make reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Reparation for our own sins and the sins of mankind. Will you listen to learn to console our Lord?
Fr Ronald Barker, 6/7/2013 St Joseph's Parish in Wakefield, MA
Continuation of the sermon Devotion of Devotions [On the Sacred Heart]. Following a review of the four immediate and three ultimate aims of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Father explains how, on a daily basis, we can practice and grow in this essential devotion. [1] To excite our heart to love Jesus more we ought to: (1) Do what pleases the Heart of Jesus; (2) Avoid what displeases Him most; (3) Consciously carry out daily thoughts, words and actions out of love for Him; (4) Consecrate one’s self and family to the Sacred Heart; and foster (5) Devotion to Our Lord’s Passion; and (6) Devotion to Blessed Sacrament. [2] To do reparation to the Sacred Heart we should: (1) Pray Acts of Reparation, (2) Offer Mass and Holy Communion in reparation, (3) Be faithful to the First Frida...
A place without a name
A heart that's wrapped in chains
I hear a broken cry
There's nothing here but what's in your mind
And down a dark road through an open gate
That seemed to move alone
Myth or truth is so hard to say
Still it chills my heart
Sacred heart
Snow yields to rain
And somehow I never felt us change
I'm running for the son
A quiet home above
Down a pathway through an open gate
That seemed to move alone
There the truth is so hard to say
Still it chills my heart
I couldn't tell you everything
There's something I should keep for my own
I couldn't tell you everything
Got secrets that you wouldn't want to know
A place without a name
A heart that's wrapped in fairytale chains
I'm running for the son
A quiet home above
Sacred heart
Do not be afraid of
It's only dark
I'm freezing
From the heart
Sacred Heart
