The Lindfield home of television presenter Karl Stefanovic and his wife Cassandra Thorburn was a hive of activity on Tuesday amid rumours the couple is about to list their family home for sale.

Photographers were spotted at the TV host’s home in Sydney’s Upper North Shore as they focused on manoeuvering a drone camera high above the property. A recent bank valuation on the property fuelled further speculation the corner block will soon hit the market.

News of the couple’s split emerged last month when the Today breakfast presenter moved out of the family home he has long shared with his wife and their three children.

As the couple’s marriage of some 21 years has unravelled, Stefanovic is reported to be now living at the Bondi Beach digs of his billionaire buddy James Packer.

Stefanovic and Thorburn bought the classic Federation bungalow in 2010 for $2.3 million, having sold their St Ives first home that same year for $1,285,000.

The six-bedroom, three-bathroom residence on the east side of Lindfield is set on 920 square metres with a saltwater swimming pool and was renovated and extended when they purchased it six years ago.

The couple’s split comes at a professional high point for Stefanovic and his co-presenter Lisa Wilkinson, given the ratings triumph of their Today show, ending Seven’s long-reigning success of its breakfast show Sunrise.

Thorburn took to Facebook this week to take some credit for the show’s success, linking its success with mounting pressures within their marriage.

“Apparently Today show finally won a year,” she wrote.

“This took a huge toll on my family and I, and I’m congratulating myself today for all the effort that went into making that happen.

“The suggestions, the story ideas, the constant counselling of questions for years. I’m giving myself a pat on the back tonight, as I know many people will also know how much effort I put into it.”

Thorburn has been previously credited with steering much of Stefanovic’s success over the years, having also given up her own promising career at the ABC to raise their children Jackson, Ava and River.
