Facing Race in
in Psychoanalysis
Michael Moskowitz, Ph.D. visited BGSP for a colloquium this month on “Racism in Psychoanalysis.” Associate Producer of the film, Black Psychoanalysts Speak, Moskowitz also discussed cases with advanced psychoanalytic candidates, emphasizing the necessity of expanding psychoanalytic understanding to recognize the role of lifelong exposure to discrimination based on race, religion or gender.

Faculty Member Dr. Stephen Soldz took on the American Psychological Association, confronting social denial and co-leading the movement to remove psychologists from abusive interrogations. Now he is working towards ethical standards on the use of psychological skills and principles to support military and intelligence operations.
