With Commander spoilers streaming out, I figured it would be a good time to do something I've always wanted to do (which may give you EDH players some ideas): The top 10 cards from an older set.
I'm going to do a few of these over the next year, but I figured I'd start with one of my favorite sets of all time, and one that is often overlooked - 1996's Alliances. This deck has one *very* well known card, and a lot of the rest have been (mostly) lost to time. But there are a LOT of good, cheap, and impactful cards with good stories behind them in this set. So Dev sits down to reminisce with his top 10 cards - plus a butt-ton of quick-fire honorable mentions - from a set that, in a lot of ways, changed the way we played Magic, and was easily the best mtg expansion up to that point (and would remain so for a at least two years after its release).

With Commander spoilers streaming out, I figured it would be a good time to do something I've always wanted to do (which may give you EDH players some ideas): The top 10 cards from an older set. I'm going to do a few of these over the next year, but I figured I'd start with one of my favorite sets of all time, and one that is often overlooked - 1996's Alliances.
