A man has died after being shot multiple times in a street in Sydney's south west on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services were called to Sturt Avenue in Georges Hall just after 9.20am after a neighbour reported seeing a man lying in his driveway.
They man, believed to be in his 20s, had several gunshot wounds, including a possible shot in the side of his head.
A black car was seen speeding away after the shooting.
"Police have been told a black Audi sedan, not further described, was seen leaving the area," police said in a statement.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene for at least half an hour, however he died from his injuries.
Aerial footage of police in the driveway of the property showed a white sheet covering the body.
No one has been arrested.
"A crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialist officers," police said. "Anyone with information is urged to come forward."
A hairdresser at Tamed Hair by Rose, around the corner from the house, heard the gun shots.
"It does happen but it hasn't happened quite so close to us," Rose told AAP.
"It was pretty frightening."
Another witness said he heard up to eight gun shots and saw what he thought was a black Mercedes speed off.
Neighbours said the man moved into the home about six months ago with a wife and young children.
